  1. So there is chatter now that both LaRussa and Eaton were upset with Yermin and the HR. There is video floating out there of LaRussa visibly upset after the HR. I guess he is going to be asked about it pregame...be very interesting to hear his answer.
  2. That’s the other thing. The Sox are “disrespecting” the game by swinging 3-0, but the Twins aren’t by having a position player throw 47? Get the fuck out of here you toolbox.
  3. Can’t stand these old cranks. Their logic really is amazing. “Ah I don’t like that. He’s getting the same pitch on 3-1, swing then. But come on, you shouldn’t swing 3-0.” Can you imagine actually believing that?

I don’t think he implied you said you think he should be at the top of the order. What you did say is Madrigal “works counts”.....Kalapse determined that was a lie.
  5. So we're going with Danny "Dickman" Mendick now? I missed that memo.

I also don't disagree with this. Honestly, I think the biggest thing that could help his cause is the Sox winning 1-2 World Series in the next 5 years. If he played a major role in collecting a few World Series, it could push him over the top. But I still don't think he makes it, just not a long enough MLB career.

I don't disagree with that at all. It's not the MLB HoF.

Pretty impressive stuff. His MLB career started too late for him to make the HoF, but he'll end up like Konerko and Buehrle in the Hall of Very Good and a statue out in LF. (I know you weren't arguing for Abreu in the Hall, Q)

I’d look to see if Texas has any interest in Sheets and Steiver for Gallo. You’d create a little log jam in 2022 but think jury is still out on Yermin at this point. LF - Vaughn RF - Gallo DH - Eloy You put another big LH bat in your lineup and really improve your OF defense in the process getting Eloy off the field.
  10. ?
  11. No, once again you are wrong and assuming things on your own that I never once said. But for some reason you have a rather large problem with me, or anyone for that matter, launching any type of criticism at LaRussa. Which is odd because you don’t see the double standard you continue to post. You yourself have stated multiple times that LaRussa has made some bad in-game decisions and you aren’t even a big fan of his when it comes to on the field decisions. You also have gone over the top in your praise of this roster and how much talent the White Sox have. So if you think LaRussa isn’t great at managing, and the roster is great...what are YOU judging him on? By your own account, it seems like most somewhat competent baseball managers could have this roster in first place... Here is what you aren’t grasping, either because you don’t want to, or can’t figure it out. I’m not judging Jose Abreu on what he does off the field. I don’t know what he does off the field. I’ve read enough stories and heard enough quotes from players to give me an idea that he brings a certain amount of value to the locker room, but that’s not what I was referencing, at all. You inferred that, and that’s on you. On Wednesday night, Jose Abreu made 2-3 absolutely incredible plays at 1B. I’m still not a true believer in defensive analytics telling the entire story, and don’t believe a night like he had on the 12th will be accurately accounted for in player value at the end of the year. As Merkin put it: Once again, I don’t judge LaRussa I what I can’t see. I judge him on decisions he makes, on the field, with this very talented roster....and I haven’t been impressed. If you can’t deal with it.....that’s a you problem. Now go home and get your fucking shinebox.
  12. You’re 100% wrong on what you “believe” my opinion is, but thanks for playing.
  13. How so? Please enlighten me.
  14. But where did I ever say managers couldn't be? You assumed that...I never said that. I'm not judging Abreu based on things I don't see or read with my own eyes. I don't do the same for LaRussa either. So what's your point?
  15. I didn't mention anything Abreu does off the field, others did. I was talking about things that happen on the field of play that I don't believe can be accurately measured and given a proper rating across the entire league.
  16. How much are you factoring his HR and two walks...today?
  17. And Abreu really is a guy that is so much more than the stats on the page. I can’t imagine many would disagree with that, but there are simply too many things Abreu does on a daily basis that can’t be measured by WAR or anything else.
  18. I think this is the source for a lot of us that are “critical” of LaRussa. It’s easy to say “It worked out so all is well.” But... 1. The move itself still didn’t “work out” It didn’t help them win the game the way they won it, and still gave away an out. 2. We’re happy and fortunate the Sox pulled it out in the 9th. But those are the type of decisions that should give some pause moving forward. The Royals did everything they could to give the Sox the game today in the 8th and 9th. I don’t know if they’ll have luxury against the Yankees, Red Sox, Halos, etc.
  19. Lol, what a stupid game hahaha
  20. With Grandal up next...I don’t blame the send.
  21. Bottom of the 9th, down 3-2, Anderson on 2B, Eaton up with Moncada and Abreu behind him. Eaton had a HR earlier in the game. TLR had Eaton bunt Anderson to third....why?
  22. That’s a terrible call, I don’t care what happens.
  23. I love Jason sometimes “Oh Eaton shows bunt...he hit a homer earlier and been on base three times.........”
