  1. By "said my bit" you mean create an entire narrative in your head based on NO evidence, but sure, whatever you say QBalta.
  2. Holy jump to conclusions, Batman! This article was from March 5th, 2021, by the Detroit Free Press. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2021/03/05/detroit-tigers-nomar-mazara-focuses-future-offensive-woes-2020/4591762001/ You have absolutely zero proof Nomar Mazara had COVID.
  3. Oh man if Liam shits the bed here, Soxtalk is going to MELTDOWN
  4. That's basically it, Tex. They had a bunch of guys brought in on one year deals, so it made sense and was probably always the plan to trade those guys. I think Stan did a pretty decent job acquiring a decent collection of additional draft picks, and a few younger lottery tickets. Very good chance none of the guys in the "incoming" category in the above tweet ever amount to anything.....but the Hawks also didn't have any players that would fetch a huge return. Stan doing nothing at the deadline would have been a huge mistake.
  5. Here is the long and short of it for anyone even slightly defending the move ( I really haven't seen anyone do that lol) 1. Is this the best possible lineup TLR could construct? 2. Do placing Williams and Lamb in the lineup serve any other positive strategic process, both short-term and/or long term? I personally feel like both of the answers to those questions are no......which leaves me scratching my head on the decision making process around creating the lineup card.
  6. In terms of the lineup, there simply isn't any defense you can give. Even if Andrew Vaughn lost an arm in battle last night....why is Nick Williams hitting 5th, in front of Grandal? Or even Madrgial...or even Mendick? Are they really trying to get Nick Williams as many AB's as possible? What are we doing here?
  7. Careful, with that type of talk @Look at Ray Ray Run might think you're saying the whole season is over!
  8. Yes Bmags, because if we've anything over time, it's that people, especially those already "concerned" about the vaccine will make thoughtful, rational, well thought out decisions and really research what the CDC and FDA are saying....certainly won't rush to judgment or share articles on social media how the J&J vaccine can't be trusted and it's harmful to our bodies.....NO WAY any of that happens.
  9. I agree with this, ron. Really like Kasper.
  10. Yikes, SAD response. I thought you had more fight in you.
  11. What's your excuse then? According to you, most of this board has no idea what they are talking about, and you're the one that is always on point. You still haven't answered my question, because you can't. Find me a post where I said the season is over. Find it. ?
  12. I'm begging you, please, find where I said the season is over. You absolute clown show.
  13. Please, find where I said anything of the sort. I said it's April 12 and I have no interest in watching these guys. That's a fact, and a statement of truth on April 12th. I have no interest in watching them. What my viewing interests are on May 15th could be completely different. But you decided to infer a totally different point because, well, you're you. In terms of your second point, if you're asking why you always have the opposite view of most here......I've got a good answer for you that I don't think you're going to like.
  14. Well said. They'll go on a hot streak and I'll get right back into it...it's just brutal that we get hyped all off-season, and they come out looking like the White Sox of the last 14 years. And you're right, part of it is getting older and actually having other things in your life going on that are 100% more important than a bad baseball team....it's just a kick in the nuts....but we keep asking to get kicked.
  15. Be my guest. But if you can't spot the difference, jokes on you. (It usually is anyway, this wouldn't be any different.) Good try, you almost had it!
  16. Its April 12 and I just have no interest in watching these guys. Awesome.
  17. Who is trading a starting caliber LF on April 12th. Give me teams and names.
  18. I just don’t see how you can come up with a compelling argument on Nick Williams helps you win a ballgame more than Andrew Vaughn at this point, defense be damned
  19. I’ve really liked it too. He was very well-cast as well. Punchable face and just doesn’t measure up to Steve (or Chris Evans for that matter at all) but he is a very believable “fill in”, like he is never anyone’s first choice, but he works well enough. They’ve made him a fairly layered character in the limited screen time and I dig it. Really enjoyed the series thus far, hope they finish strong.
  20. I hope that's not the case since they did that right at the end of Wandavision.
  21. I'm wrong a lot, believe me. Sometimes there is a lot of grey area and that is leads to good discussion. Other times things are painfully obvious. This one is the latter.
  22. When your highly paid, fresh closer comes into a clean 9th inning, against the Royals, at home, with the lead.......I simply will not pin any percentage of Liam Hendricks giving up a HR to Santana on Tony LaRussa. It's 100% on Liam Hendricks. It wasn't on a lucky bounce, it wasn't on an error, it wasn't on a seeing-eye single. He made a terrible pitch. It's happened too many times already for Liam. And this isn't some guy just learning the ropes of being in a bullpen. It's OK to have higher expectations for different players. Lastly, I'd be curious how much of the blame, privately, Liam Hendricks would place on Tony LaRussa for him blowing that save. My guess would also be 0.
