Stop watching sports. For real. You haven’t grasped the point or understand what it means to be a fan. It’s not for you.

Just let him go. He’s only “happy” when he’s miserable. Sad way to go through life but to each their own. It was a team that happened at the perfect time with the perfect roster. And it was the most memorable time I’ve ever had as a fan of any team. That entire summer was just such a blast. Did the front office get “lucky” with that team? Absolutely. But it didn’t change what that team did in the Summer of 2005.

Won't change anything, but at least the national media is starting to talk -
That's a far-right talking point. I really don't see people demonizing "anyone" who owns a gun. My best man in my wedding is more liberal than I am, and he has a gun at home because he lives on Belmont in Avondale and wants to be sure he can protect his family from someone that shouldn't be in his home. I understand that. I don't think he's wrong. He also acquired the gun the right way, took training with it, and his hope is he never fires his gun. He's not playing with it or showing it off, he'll be happy if it stays locked in the secure location for his entire life. There are very few serious people that are saying ban all guns. There are more saying "Stop gun shows where a private owner can sell a gun to a 14 year old." or "Stop an owner from having a collection like these:

Always have loved that argument. Mass shootings are OK and something we just have to "live with" because if the government ever turns on the citizens, my AR-15 is going to stop it from happening.... Really? That's the argument? You're telling me that if the US government completely goes rogue and starts coming after citizens with force, they are going to be so unprepared that you're going to be able to stop them because you have a gun in your house? That insane theory is why we can't have reasonable gun control in this country?

Respect is earned. Your posting history here is about on par with Rick Hahn's record of signing FA's over 30...... But just to be clear, my response was to you wanting to...wait for it...give Tony La Russa a promotion, then wondering who to blame for signing Josh Harrison, Dallas Keuchel, trading for AJ Pollock, with the cherry on top of telling Sox fans to suck it up and enjoy watching the games anyway!

Did you do grounded outlets for all of them you replaced?
-
Im going through this right now and actually have a question for the group if anyone has dealt with this. We just moved into an older home on the North Shore, believe it was built in the 50’s and a couple has lived there for over 40 years. Most of the outlets in the house are two prong. I want to upgrade a number of the outlets to 3 prong like in my office and the family room. Installing a new outlet that needs to be grounded can be more costly and difficult. I know they have the GFCI outlets that don’t need to be grounded but offer a little more protection, but I’m still not crazy about have 3 prong outlets that don’t have a ground wire. Anyone else dealt with that?

Hahn meets the media at the start of basically every new homestand. I think it's pretty rare at this point for Kenny to talk to the media. Honestly, I put more blame at the feet of the media that covers the team. There doesn't seem to be one guy on the beat that really gets on them and will ask the really tough questions. Everything is asked seemingly with a safety net built-in for them to answer. Additionally, Hahn speak is so bland anyway, I'm not really sure what we would even expect to hear.

If I was working the Sox beat, here is what I would ask Hahn or TLR: "Spring Training 2022, you told us this team had World Series aspirations, that was the goal this year after having back-to-back first-round playoff exits. It's now June, you're below .500 and almost every position player on the roster is having a historically down season. Additionally, the amount of muscle injuries the team has faced seems to be quite dramatic. What is being done to fix this? Both the record and also the individual performances of your key players? As we get farther into June, is there a sense of urgency from the coaching staff, front office and players?" As a fan, I don't want them to just "make a move" to make a move, I think that's stupid. However, this current concoction of ingredients isn't working. Just isn't. It's also not still April, it's now June. You can't just sit here and hope it fixes itself.

But here is the worst part and I don't know how you get past it as a fan (at least I don't know how...): Even if they "re-tooled" or even tried to "rebuild" again...why should we think for one second this FO would get it right this time? There is zero evidence to support they know what they are doing. So it's kind of like what's the point to all this? What are we doing if we know this FO, including ownership, is just stuck in this mode of constant mediocrity? That's why this season is so hard to stomach, for me at least. It really was the nail in the coffin for me that we just aren't going to get anywhere with the current structure in place. It's a 2000's Blackhawks situation...

I think 2005 was enough for Jerry. It got him what he wanted. Every that comes after is just gravy. As others have mentioned, the only way TLR ever made sense was Jerry "righting that wrong" from years ago. He wanted to close that chapter and this was his chance...set him up with what looked to be a ready-made winning ballclub. And in a lot of ways it was. When TLR took this club over...the arrow had probably never been higher on this franchise. A season and a half later, it's a dumpster fire.

What future?
