If I understand this correctly, the Sox are about to go on a roll and there is a good chance Richie got pegged last night. Story seems to check out. Thread approved. ?

6/28 GT: Sox @ LAAAAAA - WHY IS TLR STILL HERE?
Tony replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2022 Season in Review
What bothers me about this post is it totally absolves the rest of the FO, training staff, and players. It's why I sometimes wonder if the La Russa hire was looked at as a good thing by Hahn and Williams. If the Sox win, great....everyone celebrates, everyone goes home happy. If they lose, it's not about the roster construction anymore, it's now on TLR and his failures in the dugout and keeping guys healthy. When in reality, this roster was flawed entering the season, and obviously still is today. It's not to say TLR isn't a huge problem. He is. You're correct in your use of the clown emoji. But I just don't want people to lose sight of how big of a failure this is across the board. No one should come out clean of this mess, but I fear people will. -
If the team has to sell, who would you be willing to part with…

Let's slow down a little, champ. Anderson and Vaughn, two first-round picks, have provided a great impact at the ML level. Anderson was the first hitter the Sox had drafted since Crede to make an all-star game. AAA and AA currently have zero projected ML quality bats in the system. The pitching? lol -

Again, you’re just flat out wrong here. I could almost buy it if he wasn’t under control for next season, but it still wouldn’t be accurate. You’re putting FAR too much weight on a bad June. -

This is absolutely not true, by really any standard. He's making 7.5 million this season and next will be his last arb year. On May 25th of this season, he was sporting an ERA of 2.63. He's had a terrible June but given that Giolito is in his age 27 season and has put up 3 consecutive seasons of well-above-average production, expecting a C-level prospect back for Giolito is an insane take on June 27th -
And what if they bet on the wrong horses, and guys like Moncada, Robert, Eloy are just wound a little too tight, and will never stay on the field for extended periods of time? This is a results business. Most observers saw the Sox having a window between 2020-2023 based on how contracts are structured and the core ages of this group. We were told, by the front office, that a World Series was the expectation this season. Oh, and this was a franchise that got rid of their training staff last year and spent time in the offseason looking for a new staff....and we've seen how that's worked out thus far. On June 27th, they have the same amount of wins as the Orioles. Since the ASB last year, they are well under .500. Reserve judgment? For what?

Your opinion has been noted. Political talk will not be coming back. Thanks!

Can the White Sox right the ship without making any major moves?

Mendick, Engel, and (maybe) Robert leave with injuries
Tony replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I hadn't see the video until now, that was a terrible play by Robert. He deserves to be benched for it. And on one hand, I don't hate the tact TLR is using here. On the other hand, I don't like that this seems to be a consistent thing under his watch. -

Tony replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It was a while ago, but when he retired in 2018, they said he was staying on as an advisor. He is also still listed on the Sox site as a member of the front office as Head Athletic Trainer Emeritus -
Big yikes

I don’t care what Vaughn is doing, I’d still rather have Mitch Keller

I’ve been watching for 25 minutes and they haven’t said who this guy is in the booth. That’s terrible broadcast etiquette.

Not only is this insane, but if you truly believed that and were that outraged, I find it odd you would have over 5,700 posts on a message board devoted to a team inside Major League Baseball.

Tony replied to Harry Chappas's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Not sure it has to do with “balls” There isn’t a reason to do it. There isn’t an interest in being great. Everyone on 35th and Shields seems to be OK with being…ok. Maybe you get lucky one year, and that’s great. But why make hard decisions when you don’t have to? -
The timing may have been right, but the return unfortunately wasn't. Having said that, Nick Madrigal wouldn't have helped this team this year...at all.

Credit to Fegan as well for writing the story, getting it out there. And I'm glad you posted it, @Colome's Hat, because it deserves as much visibility as possible. Goes without saying, but awesome stuff from Liam.

I think he's probably a VERY good No. 2, but would be a huge upgrade for a team like the Bears.

I don’t believe a single White Sox hitter is on pace to hit 20 HR this season. 20! It’s 2022…

Chicago thin crust IS Chicago style. Deep Dish is for people from Nebraska here for the weekend.

If I had to put a list together of the biggest issues facing the organization, this would be like No. 800. -
I don't know, I think Jim Boylen has to make an appearance on that list.

Probably for the best, if we’re being honest
