  1. The idea is they would have an above slot agreement at 2 on hand. But yes, I’m sure I’m overthinking.
  2. Are you at all concerned the Rays will try to push him down to 2 (assuming he’s still the clear 1) with their enormous pool, or am I just being paranoid?
  3. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they were in on him once he was looking for a shorter term, but bowed out once opt-outs came into play.
  4. Nice! Good for him. He was a fun player.
  5. Ray Ray’s a couple posts away from listing his movie reviews.
  6. It’s a minor league signing. He’s very, very likely playing in Charlotte as injury insurance.
  7. I can’t recall actually hearing Mune said out loud. Reading the above I’m guessing it’s pronounced “moon”? Or is it moonay? Moonee? If it’s pronounced Moon you’ve gotta play Michael Jackson for every Moon walk.
  8. Wow, thanks for filling me in. I do remember Harold disliked Haber.
  9. He has 3 years service time left before free agency.
  10. Damn what’d I miss? Fill me in on that big beefy gossip. Daddy’s hungry.
  11. Yeah, it doesn’t really make sense. A baseball ops department is going to do what they think is best in consideration of the constraints they’re working under. You can argue with their decisions, but whether it’s win now or win later, they’re all trying to win. It seems evident that isn’t always the case with ownership, or at the very least isn’t a high enough priority. I don’t see how you could argue, given the information we’re privy to, with Cohen’s desire to put a winning product on the field, sleazeball or not. Given that same information, you could make a pretty compelling argument against Jerry, however.
  12. “I don't doubt that the #WhiteSox wouldn't be interested in a short-term deal” lol this guy was just scolding people on their literacy
  13. His fame and the interest that comes with him far exceeded his salary. Normally I would agree, but these weren’t ordinary circumstances.
  14. Didn’t that guy used to post here years ago and caught making s%*# up?
  15. I believe whether prospect or international free agent, you need the 6 years service time unless the contract specifically states otherwise. Don’t quote me on it.
  16. I can’t really envision a scenario this off-season where he gets traded, but if he can be an average hitter or better in the first half I can see a desperate team trading for him.
  17. We really have devolved into an eristic society.
  18. I don’t know about that. We saw a good version of him to finish out the year, and his athleticism hasn’t deteriorated at all. It’s still in there somewhere.
  19. I don’t know how much this changes. Nobody who wants to win is going to play Bleday in CF. He sucks.
  20. There’s no way in hell. He came back from injury late in 2024 and they wouldn’t even play him.
  21. That isn’t really that relevant to the 2026 draft class. Usually the winners of that award are draft eligible the year they win. I do agree this time a year ago he wasnt a lock at 1-1, though.
  22. Haha not a good catch at all. I’ve never heard of the Buffalo Braves. I was saying NY state has 8 teams, and I assumed it was the Sabres you had forgotten. Or it’s possible one of the 8 doesn’t play in NY anymore. I’ve got: Mets, Yankees, Bills, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders, Sabres.
  23. If you forgot the Sabres nobody could blame you.
  24. White Sox now have the smallest “largest contract ever” of the 30 franchises I believe.
