Baty has to be included if Hendriks goes to the Mets. The Sox have all the leverage here. Mets aren’t willing to pay up for an elite reliever? Then you’re not getting Liam.

Both are still very annoying regardless.

It’s not that difficult to find a 2nd baseman who is an upgrade over Romy Gonzalez. This franchise is pathetic.

Danny Jansen doesn’t move the needle that much either if your view of the Sox as a team is that pessimistic.

Imagine if the Correa to Giants thing falls through, the Sox sign Correa, and then they trade TA for a massive haul. It’s fun to dream.

At this point all the Sox really need is a 2nd baseman and 4th outfielder.

Can’t remember the specific game but he kinda stood there in a lapse of judgement momentarily and the runner headed home but Andrus threw him out anyway if I recall correctly.

Neither could Engel. At least Billy is fun and has game changing speed.

Adam Duvall is a pretty good fit for the team but he might be a bit pricey.

Keith Law saying they are short a DH proves he doesn’t watch this team.

Wouldn’t the whole point of trading Hendriks be to shed money? Don’t think they would save much if any money if they did all these moves.

That was after the season already started and they gave him a couple months to try to figure it out. Wouldn’t be the same scenario as DFAing Grandal now.

It is very hard to imagine them just eating $18 million unless they can find a taker for him.

The Sox have to pay Grandal in 2023 regardless. Why use your biggest trade chip to get another catcher when there is still a big hole at 2B? Like I said, I’m not even a big Gleyber guy but turning Hendriks into Jansen would be disappointing considering the Sox already have Grandal and 2 backup options there.

I’m not even that big of a Gleyber Torres guy but I would rather trade Liam for him than Danny Jansen.
