  1. Only way he’s not the GM of this team by the end of the year is if he decides to leave on his own. He is never getting fired and you can say that about anyone in this front office.
  2. The current options haven’t done anything to prove that any of them should be given the job.
  3. He sucks less than their current options. That’s the point. Obviously wouldn’t be my first choice but he is an improvement over who they have now.
  4. He was a positive WAR player who was above average offensively both years he was with the Sox (though it was a small sample size). That’s far more “success” than I would expect from their current options.
  5. Leury is terrible. Romy is terrible. Sosa might be good eventually but was terrible in a small sample size last year. Of those 4 options I would choose Madrigal. He wasn’t that good in 2022 but isn’t that far removed from being productive and also has the most past success of that group.
  6. But you said you’re not sure if he’s better than those guys which almost certainly isn’t true. I would be shocked if any of the trio of Leury/Romy/Sosa outperformed Madrigal statistically this season.
  7. And Romy and Leury aren’t? Sosa might have potential but we have no idea what he is. Acting like he isn’t better than their current options is laughable.
  8. I’m not a big Madrigal fan but this is just an insane statement.
  9. He’s also the same guy who wanted to DFA Aaron Bummer so his articles mean less than nothing.
  10. They are absolutely not irrelevant. They are sunk costs, yes, but those sunk costs like Leury, Diekman, etc are definitely relevant in the realm of budget allocation.
  11. How does that work exactly? I would assume they still owe Hendriks a portion of contract even if he is out for the season. How much money would they save if his deal is insured?
  12. The guy who posted this “rumor” makes up a rumor every day and has never been right about anything, so yeah. Guessing the guy is 15 years old and just wants attention.
  13. I’m sure you were told that.
  14. Not to be that guy as his health is obviously first and foremost, but will he miss time in the regular season because of this? Serious question, not trying to be insensitive.
  15. The Sox had to pay him $5 million regardless. I think he only ended up losing a million by choosing to leave which isn’t that much given how much he has made in his career.
  16. While it would definitely be annoying, the fact that his physical has been concerning enough for 2 teams to possibly pass on him shows that he might be toast physically.
  17. Two 3rd basemen is a bold strategy.
  18. They’re trading Liam man I am sick.
  19. I don’t think so. When Bob tweets Sox related things he is usually right.
  20. At this point I need Hahn to tell the Mets to f*** off regardless of what they offer just so their obnoxious fans don’t get what they want for once.
