  1. You know the team stinks when ChiSoxFanMike is the topic of the day on SoxTalk.
  2. Schwarber would have 8 home runs with a .634 OPS if the Sox signed him.
  3. Vinnie Parise has less credibility than peavy44.
  4. 2 and a half years is a pretty decent chunk of time. But if the Sox were to trade for him and not extend him, they would pretty have to accept the fact that they would be really bad for a long time after he leaves because they gave up so much young talent to get him in the first place.
  5. Thing is that it makes no sense to give up all that talent just for 2.5 years of Soto’s services. No smart team is going to decimate their system for 2.5 years of him. They will sign him to an extension and have a generational talent like him in the middle of the lineup for the next 10+ years minimum. The Sox just do not operate like that.
  6. Why is this thread 10 pages? There is literally zero chance the Sox would ever trade for Soto in the first place, let alone give him 500 million dollars. Only way this would ever become even a possibility is if Jerry no longer owns the team.
  7. Where does Schultz slot into the Sox top 10 prospect rankings?
  8. Why would the Yankees want Pollock? Obviously Gallo has been a disappointment but his upside is for sure higher than Pollock’s if he can turn it around.
  9. They should claim Touki Toussaint and DFA one of those bums.
  10. I completely disagree. Hendriks would become one of the most sought after relievers available and we all know teams always need more relievers, especially elite ones. As for Giolito, he still has value too despite his recent struggles. The Sox could probably get a similar package for him that the twins got for Berrios last year.
  11. That’s not true really. They could trade guys like Giolito and Hendriks now, get several quality young players for them, and then sign free agents this offseason to replace them. That is expecting the Sox to operate intelligently though so it won’t happen.
  12. Time to have this conversation. This team sucks. I say they move any of the short term pieces (Pollock, Cueto, etc) and perhaps even guys like Giolito to build for next year. Can’t completely tear it down again but this team is garbage and needs significant personnel changes.
  13. People should just stop going to games. It’s not worth the time or money to watch this trash. All it does it make Jerry laugh all the way to the bank.
  14. Not sure if this is the right thread but man oh man Steve Stone is such a tool. Sad to see what he has become, used to have a lot of respect for him.
  15. Someone explain to me why that Melendez guy from Texas is not highly thought of. His stats are absolutely absurd even if he doesn’t really have a position.
  16. Any player can get hurt at any time. If Rocker is the most talented player on the board when the Sox pick, why should they not take him (unless his medicals are god awful or something)?
  17. What if my aunt had balls?
  18. That’s not true. They have way more assets than they did in 2016. Don’t think they would commit to a rebuild at this point but they have a lot of valuable trade commodities if they were to do that.
  19. Giolito looks like shit.
  20. Hahn has to be toast.
  21. What’s wrong with Graveman?
  22. I wonder if Graveman and Hendriks will be available. They’ve pitched a ton recently. Hopefully there is an offensive explosion so their services aren’t necessary.
  23. There’s a better chance of you growing another testicle than the Sox letting that option vest.
  24. He was only at like 94 pitches. Could’ve let him start the inning and given him a short leash. Thankfully it worked out anyway.
