  • Good for Jose Abreu. I'm very glad that the White Sox didn't give him a 3 year deal though.

  • Which happened because the people that built the roster aren't good at their paid profession.  Any way you slice it, the Sox are supposed to be smack dab in the middle of their "World Series Wind

Not a popular opinion here...but Vaughn will outplay him by a decent clip over the next 3 years. Sad to see him go...but you HAVE to play your farm guys when they are ready. No more Vaughn in the outf

Yuck

Would have preferred he went to NL so I could somewhat root for him but whatever.

Well this sucks. We'll get to see Jose on opening day...in an Astros uniform.

Happy it’s not the Cubs

Good for him, has a legit shot at a ring now

Good for Jose. Deserves to be in a best in class org that prioritizes winning.

At least we will see him the opening series of the year where he tends to start slower than most

The luckiest people are any Abreu's Amigos he helps in Houston....I'm sure those in Chicago will miss him greatly.

That fit was sadly obvious.

And yeah, this hurts the White Sox's chances a lot.

This is exactly my thoughts. I wonder if he regrets not signing there initially.

It'll be in Houston though.

I just puked on top of my puke.

3 year $50 million deal seems about right.

Yes, I'd prefer if he didn't mimic Big Frank's first return to the South Side in an A's uniform....was that 2 home runs that game?

Happy for Jose.  He may very well get a ring.  Would have preferred an NL team, tbh.  But Sox made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.

Happy for Jose. Otherwise, sad.

Yikes.  Losing Abreu is an enormous step backwards.

This organization is s%*# soft served. Good luck to him.

Good for Jose.

KW signed jeff Nelson specifically because the Big Hurt had a lot of problems hitting him. He gave up the 2nd homer. IIRC, the first was his first AB.

I was hoping he'd sign with San Diego.

No one seems to agree with me but something transpired between the Sox and Jose prior to spring training last year.  He was not even close to the same person in 2022.

No clue what it was, but I'm guessing it was bad.

They didn't lose him.  They chose not to sign him again.  They could have signed him if they wanted to.

I understand needing to make a decision between Jose and Vaughn, unless they were content with having Vaughn play out of position again.  But damn it'll suck to see him in an Astros uniform.

Happy for Vaughn.

Good luck, Jose.
