It really is amazing how the Baseball Gods have smiled upon the SouthSide recently. Moronotti is talking about the Sox. The SnORE is still trying to talk sCrUBS, but most of the callers want to talk Sox..... even sCrUB fans who have to admit the Sox are trying to get better and win it this year while Hendry fiddles and does nothing while Wrigley slowly burns. The White Sox and Frank Thomas' walk-off was the lead story on ESPN Baseball Tonight last night (Not sure if it still was though after the West Coast games ended). Reynolds, Valentine, and the other guy actually talked about the White Sox for a FULL 5 MINUTES AFTER THAT TOO . Sox baseball highlights have superseded ShamME's 9th inning HR to win the last game in Philly..... but all of the Chicago sports personalities are in agreement..... PK's dinger MEANT MORE in the bottom of the 11th with 2 outs than ShamME's corked dinger in the top of the 9th. The White Sox need to sustain because all is right on the SouthSide now. Don't get ahead of yourselves though. I'm not lying to myself . I fully expect the Chicago sports media to push the Sox back to irrelevancy as soon as this weekend since the Sox play Tampa Bay and the sCrUBS play their division rival St. Louis. It's just that the last week has been real nice .

Everett said in a postgame interview on AM 1000 that he was, "..... giddy like a woman....." standing on the stairs waiting to go to the on deck circle for warm-ups during Franks walk-off HR at bat. He also said the players here are very similar to the players in Texas and that he gets along with everybody..... the only difference being this team is playing to win their Division while Texas was just playing for respect.

Yes..... unless he is packaged in a trade that Marlins fans could live with..... no prospects and viable ML'ers. Florida is just starting to rebuild their fan base with Willis, Lowell, IRod, etc. Trading Lowell when they are around .500 would be equivalent to the White Sox's '97 White Flag.

The 19 and some change was the announced paid attendance. Tonight was Chicago Police and Fire Night according to AM 1000. Not sure if those tix are included in the attendance figures since cops and firemen get them for half price. Additionally, the RF seating area was reserved for Great Lakes Naval Academy recruits that start basic training tomorrow AM..... free of charge to the recruits and their families. AM 1000 said there was easily 25,000+ in attendance. Too bad there wasn't more ..... they missed a good one.
