Nobody else has hit on it but I thought the same thing. f***ing team can't score 4 runs against the D-Rays.

We still have to play both those teams though. However, we'll probably kick ass and take names in August since the necessity to win will be there . Pinella of the last place D-Rays has outmanaged JM of the 3rd place White Sox two days in a row now . Good to see someone can motivate their team to show up and play in "The JuiceBox" .

Was it just me, or were the majority of posters here saying just 2 or 3 days ago that winning 2 out of 3 or sweeping the D-Rays was a must ? Maybe I was misled here. A team that we are led to believe is a "contender" shouldn't face the prospect of being swept by a last place team. Ever. Brush it off all and act like it's no big deal. Hopefully we don't lose this division by 5 games (2 losses to Tampa Bay so far and 3 losses to Detroit so far) cause everyone here that is saying "Don't worry" will bring up these games in their woulda, shoulda, coulda arguments. Book it!

I hope JM had a good reason for that jacked up line-up card he played today. JM sits Maggs and puts Daubach in RF when he should have sat Carlos Lee's slumping ass and, if anything, played Everett in LF and let Daubach DH. I guess my anger stems from JM not being able to go two goddamn games in a row without tinkering with the line-up card in some form or fashion. I'll bet anybody here $10 that tomorrow we see a different f***ing line-up than we saw today. Can it be that we may be struggling against the D-Rays because no one in the clubhouse knows whether or not they will be (or where they'll be) playing on any given day? We picked up Alomar and Everett..... NOW AXE THE TINKERER!!!!! :fyou

Probably because, without Botch, we win yesterday's game Additionally, it's not too hard to face the hard reality of losing when you're being aced by Sosa, Levine, whoever the f*** that blonde kid was that got Sosa out of the bases loaded jam in the 6th, and their best intimidation of a Botch closer in the 9th . Even he didn't allow 3 runs to cross home plate

He blows. With all the BS he's caused by now, if he was hurt, they'd have put him on the DL so that his trade value would be ever so slightly better than it is right now. He sucks this bad with no injury..... who the hell will deal for him ? Make other GM's think his ineffectiveness is a result of an injury, reactivate him, and maybe..... just maybe..... some buffoon out there would deal for him.

Look at Foulke's numbers, and look at Botch's. Numbers don't lie. Foulke is, by far, the better closer..... always has been. KW just lets this little thing called "ego" get in the way.

No way can you deal Gordon with Botch's ineffectiveness. If Gordon is dealt, KW better get a real closer..... and fast . BTW..... I like Marte as the set-up man but wouldn't be opposed to seeing him in the closer role..... WHEN THE '04 SEASON STARTS! No way do I want to see the "Marte Closing Project" in July just because Botch botches and because Gordon may be dealt. Whatever the case, KW better deal for a real closer..... AND FAST!

Billy Beane ? In "MoneyBall" , Beane mentions two times where he actually laughed behind KW's back. One was when KW used the first pick in the draft to choose Royce Ring..... who was traded in the recent Alomar deal, and when KW traded Foulke, MJ, and a PTBNL for Botch and Cotts. Too bad Beane is the only one laughing

Sad thing is, if he can't close a game, what is he gonna be setting up? If, hypothetically, we were leading 3-1 after 7 and a half tonight, and JM brought Botch in to set-up the bottom of the 8th facing the same batters he faced tonight, we go into the 9th, at the very least, tied. Botch would still only have 1 out and would be facing "the meat" of the D-Rays order (Baldelli, Huff, and..... if one of them gets on..... Grieve). All Botch will be doing is setting up Gordon or Marte for the win. At this point, I don't want JM giving Botch the ball with anything less than a 4-run lead. End of story. I don't want him setting up s*** until whatever hitch, injury, or other intangible is ratified.
