we are 12-8 - how is that going down in flames? At this rate we will end with 96 wins. Going down in flames? Going down in flames? Wouldn't call it that..... yet! Underachieving with JM at the helm like the team has been doing since the second half of 2000? Definitely..... and I'm getting goddamn sick and tired of it. Did anybody really think JM was gonna do s*** when that ump made the worst call of the year? If you did I have a bridge in NY to sell you. At least he took his hands out of his back packets

You don't have to choose one, I was just kinda listing options. This is why I don't post much, I get people confused. s*** Dogg..... I asked because I want all three
-
With who's up here right now? Rios. If we go to the minors? Borchard. Even with all of Borchard's predicted whiffs, he'd be a bigger threat and would probably, on occasion, come through with a hit or two unlike Aaron "Dorn" Rowand.
-
Why do I have to choose just one ? I'll take all three sans Harris at this point.
-
Given our track record the last couple of seasons in the West, you might say the same thing about the Sox.
-
The Cubs drafted him..... hence, him being a "prospect."

#1 can you believe that s***. How much did the Tribune pay them? CWSOX45 The Trib printed the story

The "kid" has been in the League for awhile now. How long do you give a guy, kid or not, before you pull the plug and admit he may be a bust? Not much longer..... IMHO. Why does it matter where he's been playing. If he had been playing in the minors all this time and just came up you wouldn't want to be getting rid of him. True..... because the majority of his time would have been spent in the minors. JG is going on 4 seasons now of average-below average pitching in the Majors. There is no where else for him to go but down to the minors. A team that is supposedly making a run for the AL Central can't afford to let JG, once again, struggle to find his consistency with what has been going on 4 seasons now.

#1 can you believe that s***. What do you expect from the Tribune? Yankee Stadium has more history and character in the clubhouse manager's s***ter than all of Wrigley Field does inside and out..... but the Tribune doesn't own the Yankees
-
That was last year..... or was it two years ago ?
-
I wish that was the case. Unfortunately, it has been almost 4 seasons of a couple bad starts then a good start, 3 more bad ones, then another gem. JG is not going to make it in the Major Leagues as a starting pitcher if he doesn't develop something that resembles consistency.

Hypocrite How so? I'm pretty sure that Killa's saying that he thinks it's hypocritical for you to say that you should NEVER throw at the head, and then immediately after that, saying that it's okay to throw at the pitcher's head who threw at the first guy's head. If that's what Killa meant, I agree with him. You can't have it both ways - if it's wrong for one, it's wrong for all. I think Juan Cruz handled it correctly - he plunked Torres in the knee. It could have done damage, but couldn't have killed Torres. If it's me, I probably drill the guy right between the numbers on the back of his jersey. Headhunting is low-class, no matter what. That's exactly what I meant Critic. Thanks

Most of us that tailgate at USCF never have our tix near each other. We just pick a meeting spot 3-4 hours before game time and shoot the bull, cook some burgers and hot dogs, and drink ALOT of beer. But sitting together is not a prerequisite for tailgating in Chicago.
-
The ones in Chicago ocassionally tailgate and such. I'm out in Cali and I know there is a big contigence of us on the boards. There are a few in Oregon and I'd safely say we probably have a poster from each state on the board and a few countries. Either way, I think we have a great group here and I'm sure their will be many more great Sox fans coming over, especially after the Sox keep winning and winning. Some of course will be bandwagoners, but hey, if you get Bandwagon fans it means your doing something good so I don't have a problem with that. Also, I have seen some attacks lately but I'd like to say that I respect everyones opinion on here when it comes to baseball. Things have gotten heated at times and almost everytime things have ended up calming down and many times those that argue start to respect eachother more. I'm a firm believer that the people here can handle things and settle their own differences without personal attacks and if they go that way that they can get themselves out of it. Us admins/mods here try to just keep the trolls away and give the fans a place to give their opinion, whether its a rant of how much we suck or how great we are. I'd like to say that if people disagree with a certain poster about personal opinions to go ahead and say it, but when it does come to name calling, please stick away from it, it just isn't productive, kind of like our offense early in the season (Although I have no doubt it will be potent very soon). Anyway like Steff said: Back to Baseball The "Cali Contingent" should get together and tailgate this season at Oakland, LA, and/or Anaheim

I saw it back on Saturday when he originally posted it but I didn't read it. When I see his name as the thread originator, I found the best thing to do is to skip it. I, like you LDF, clicked on this thread for the first time today when I saw that SI posted a reply knowing full well he'd make much more sense than Apu. I only saw that I was called out when I scrolled down to get to SI's reply. I do worry about a guy though who uses a baseball messageboard as his political bully pulpit. I also worry about a guy who, after all his political posturing, thinks that Dennis Kucinich is the best Presidential Candidate out there based on the fact that he's a vegan and a staunch enviromentalist. I guess we should just forget about 09/11 and get back to what's really important..... like tree-hugging and veggie burgers . And, considering Apu is one of Bush's biggest detractors based on his handling of the economy, I thought he would select a Presidential Candidate that didn't bankrupt a whole city (Cleveland) when he was mayor to fix the US economic troubles. Guess I was wrong.

After your comparison of the Iraq War to 09/11, I told you in that thread and, to this day, no longer read the bulls***..... and that's what your political posts are, bulls***..... that you post. But since you called me out, your original post contradicts itself. For example, your original post says that, "not a single case of a returning Vietnam Veteran being spat upon by anti-war activists" was found. Your original post then goes on to say, "1% of the Veterans encountered hostile reactions" and, "(T)here are practically no reports of spitting during the war itself." "Practically no" is not none. And 1% of Veterans encountering any hostile reaction upon return..... spitting or not..... is 1% too much. It then goes on to say that "(Lembcke) tried to track down individuals who said that they had been spat upon or witnessed it, but they 'dissolved on scrutiny' and others 'betrayed lack of authenticity.'" What are these assumptions based on? The article doesn't say so I will assume the assumptions are based on Lembcke's preconceived leftists biases. There is so much more wrong with this article that I could spend days dissecting it, but, I have better things to spend my time on..... like devoting myself to ripping on you in posts. In short, this article, like your posts, reeks of bulls***.

Don't flatter yourself. Nobody likes conceit. BTW, I haven't even come close to talking s*** about you.
-
Anything less than 2 out of 3 from either team..... especially with the A's and Seattle afterwards..... and JM should join the ranks of the unemployed while the Sox could still salvage the season. It won't happen (firing JM) but it should.

His ERA is 7.72. That didn't come from "1 bad start". He's looked bad 2 times now, looked OK another time, and had a very good start vs. KC last week. And yeah, if Buehrle had a bad start 50% of the time, we'd send him down too. Buehrle is consistently good 70-80% of the time, while Garland is more around 25-30%. That's unacceptable for a supposed contending team. Agreed. As for going to see Botch on Friday, I gotta work.

Hypocrite

Yeah..... but guiltier people have walked on better evidence than what the media is reporting the police as having..... although I believe the cops have a "smoking gun" that will positively convict this ass. The cops have had their eyes on Scott since day one for a reason. All of Scott's alibi's are extremely suspect and the prosecution will, more than likely, shred Scott's alibi and his defense witnesses to shreds. Interesting sidenote..... At Scott's court proceedings today, he claimed he could not afford a lawyer. Wonder where that $10,000 went that he was arrested with heading towards Mexico ?

Just like the lives of the 100 some soldiers it saved, eh? It's a mark Roman to illicit a response from the boards biggest Sox fan Sorry CK, Im feeling kinda dumb right now. Could you explain that please? Making someone a "mark" is when you say or do something so obviously over-the-top and overblown that 99% of the people know you're fooling around because of the stupidity of the statement or action but your "mark" takes your ridiculously overblown statements or actions seriously. Usually done for humor at the "marks" expense.
