This could have been the game we needed. Down 6-0, looking like another laugher, and Vaughn comes in and pumps up the team and gets the crowd rocking. 7-5, full momentum on our side. What does TLR do? Brings in a player from AAA to come in and give up 4 runs. This organization is just so laughably bad I can't even believe it.

I dont blame TLR here for leaving DK in. Cease blew it 2 days ago and the bullpen had to cover for him. If anything I blame Hahn for not dealing with Keuchel in the offseason.

What I get from this is the whole team's mental is broken and Menechino has no idea what to do about it. He is saying the right things, but whatever they are doing is not working and the results are getting worse and worse. Some teams have answers, its clear we do not. Failures of this magnitude fall on coaching and sorry Frank but you dont have any answers.

Sure, some stats arent available like swing data but this is what I see: His GB to FB rate has nearly doubled since last year from 1.3 to 2.2 (5% increase in GB, 10% decrease in FB, 5% increase in LD) He is going oppo, more, 5% more than last year His BB% is down a bit while his K% has gone up 5% I would guess he is swinging more at pitches outside the zone to go the other way, unsure. His numbers above show a similar pattern to our MLB guys though.

I read an article on the Athletic that laid out just how much the Twins are putting into their hitting development, from low A all the way to the majors. I am sure their low A teams have better scouting than our MLB one does. They also have been having front office analytics people in the dugout, and Baldelli stated that he listens to them like any other coaches. Meanwhile our analytics guy, Duncan (what a joke of a hire), can't even approach TLR about anything analytics.
