He's better than Despaigne...that's about all I've got to say.
-
Very reasonable choices IMHO. Both ground ball pitchers which is a good thing on the South Side.
-
We need to pick up more than 1 SP this off season. I have no problem if they would go sign Nova now as one of those...even if just to pitch against the Cubbies ?

After betting on himself 2 years in a row with a 1 year deal...good for him, but risky business -

Ah, so he bet on himself. Interesting to see how much it will work. Thanks for that info. But I must say, I do think that if you are a top of the line free agent, Boras is your guy. Below that top tier, I'm not sure he is the best fit IMHO. -

Boras..."Patience, Dallas. Look at the deal I got for Cole and Strasburg." Keuchel..."Yeah but look at the deal you got me last year" -

I was just thinking that it would be more AAV than MadBum got plus I cannot think that Keuchel wants to wait around until the end of the offseason again. I mean I am sure that he will sign before the season this year since he does not have a QO attached this year but I would not be surprised if he is getting a little antsy. -

3 years for 54 million for Dallas. Like has been said before, he is a ground ball pitcher and a veteran presence. Both of those things will work for the Sox and that contract will not cripple them with their $$ situation. -
If you compare him to what Mookie is going to get...George might be a bargain ?
-
The high ground ball rate does sound good on the South Side. I would like the Sox to sign him or Ryu at this point. I would guess it would take a 4 year deal at this point to sign either unless you go with a higher AAV on a shorter deal.

You currently have 11 laughing emojis so I think alot of people get that it was just a joke...and a very funny one at that. Keep up the good work. Like I said before, it is a long offseason and we need some laughs.
-
If you were to put 2 players for the Sox on there today, that would be a tough call for me. I would probably put Anderson on because I think he is a team leader but Moncada is probably the more marquis player. If you are putting a pitcher on, definitely Giolito. To be clear, I really do like Delmonico but I also think that post was funny and I would hope that Nicky would understand the humor. Also, I never go on twitter but if people are being cruel to Nicky there than that is just wrong.
-
Actually I think you can love the Sox and still think that Field of Dreams post was very clever. It is a long offseason and I love to laugh. That post helped with both of those things for me.
-
Thank you. I will be here all week...hitting F5.
-
I hope Garcia is a nightmare for the Cubbies this year...Good Luck Avi!!!
-
Plus the organization's "Hollywood good looks" rating goes back to a 60 with Nicky resigning.
-
I disagree....his spin rate would be awful in that dry weather and with the size of the ballparks in that Afghan league his ERA would skyrocket. Plus it is not close enough to New Jersey.
-
I'm glad to see that you were able to swallow your pride and admit that you were wrong ?
-
He is an extremely likeable guy and nice story.
-
I think that this off season needed to be about pitching, pitching, pitching. But I whole heartedly agree with you about this.
-
I'm sure Rick monitors this board so let's close this thread as a hint to take his chair to another table ?

You'll ruin the rebuild, Kid!! HO HO HO
-
I actually liked that Carson was upset that they had moved him off the starting pitching track, yet quickly became determined to work hard to be a good reliever. I will always root for the kid to really figure it out. He's gotta throw strikes though.
-
My assessment on this offseason is dependent on who they get for the rotation. My preference is to spend $$ and not assets to get that starting pitcher(s)
-
If I remember correctly, Carson was looking pretty good when he came back last year, then he got hurt trying to hustle out a single in extra innings that one game. But then he didn't look good again when he came back from that. I still have hope he can help us in the pen.
