Coming from one of the few guy on this board who liked Steele Walker and someone who still hates that trade...yes I guess they are smarter and better informed than me. Of course that won't stop me from giving my uninformed opinions ?
If too many other teams are involved and are willing to play ball with the Wrong Sox, let them give up their talent. In that case, Hahn needs to go out and sign some damn free agent pitching. David Price is not anywhere close to being a sure fire good thing if we were to get him.
Hahn is reminding me of a bad hitter who is up with the bases loaded and nobody out. He has all the advantages yet he approaches the at bat like the pitcher is the one in command of the situation. The Red Sox need to get some financial flexibility and we can provide that but we do not have to. We have the upper hand, do not give up anything of value IMHO.
I agree about just taking on the contract if we want Price and they want prospects. They are the ones trying to shed payroll. They can pound sand if they want us to take the "bad" contract and give them prospects.
So if the conversation about whether they should do a trade or not was about Price, did Rick/Kenny think that they could just think it over for awhile and the Red Sox were not going to shop him elsewhere?
Now, Now. I fully expect Sale to sign a 1 day contract at the end of his career to retire a Pale Hose....those lifetime White Sox ambassador positions are gold for retirees.
I got that "excited/scared" feeling. Like 98% excited, 2% scared. Or maybe it's more. It could be, it could be 98% scared, 2% excited but that's what makes it so intense, it's so - confused. I can't really figure it out.
