  1. OK, deal with the devil time. If you could bring back baseball and White Sox baseball especially immediately but you had to forgo one of the other local major professional sports teams from ever returning who would you sacrifice: Bulls Blackhawks Bears (My apologies to the Fire and the Sky fans for not including them in this scenario and sorry but you also can't list the Cubbies here)
  2. Great opportunity to maybe get some new fans to the sport with no other live sports available. But I guess they are going to blow that by not being able to reach a compromise. Very disappointing.
  3. That was a great game to re-enjoy tonight...and Berman was as biased as I remembered him. At one point in my life, I would look forward to Sportscenter and relish Chris Berman showing an Ivan "bubbling" Calderon highlight....but I really grew to dislike Berman during this series against the BoSox.
  4. Considering that I have found myself watching televised cornhole and a 'professional" rock skipping contest recently, I could not agree with you more. I have a 12 pack of Sox Ale in the basement ready to chill up for the beginning of this season.
  5. What surprised me about that game was when Jenks came in and he only had 4 saves at the time....I remembered that Hermanson was the closer for most of the year but I did not remember that Jenks only had 6 saves in the regular season in 2005...then Hermanson came in to pitch the 10th inning and I had totally forgotten that he had come back from injury to pitch at all late in 2005...but what I do remember not fondly is the dread that the Indians were gonna catch us in the standings ...Wake me up when September ends is what I remember
  6. I'm really doubting the offensive fire power of the Korean baseball league as I watch Despaigne mow them down
  7. Watching the 9th inning now, anxiously waiting the Crede walkoff. I am remembering how stressful that late September was!!
  8. Let's get some live baseball back and maybe get some new fans to our national past time... actually I just want it back myself but thought I'd throw out another reason for "the good of the sport" ?
  9. I'd love it if he fell to #11 from everything I've read....but I highly doubt that happens.
  10. Just by personal observation, the average Sox fan also has a higher IQ (especially baseball wise) than the average Cubs fan ?
  11. Watched part of the game today...Carl Everett in RF showing why he was a DH....my goodness he was scary bad out there
  12. That's awesome...could you imagine walking up to that and Ricky calls for a bunt. ?
  13. If you could have just 1 at bat as a member of the White Sox, what would you choose as your walk up song as you stroll to the dish? I would choose The Underdog by Spoon.

I had it in a bar in Saugatuck a couple of summers back and thought it was great too. Is it available in Illinois?
  15. Great article...thanks. With the younger squad and 2 allstar catchers, I would love to see what the Sox would do playing extra double headers. It would be strange to see the games with no crowds but it would be terrific to have live baseball back in any form.

Has anyone else tried the Greenbush Starchicken ipa?
  17. I just don't get how free tshirt Thursdays will work in this scenario?
  18. Since we will be in Arizona...Can we go back to the days of guys getting their running work in the outfield during the game. You could change the rules to let them be pinch runners throughout the game...Adam Engel could be on base most innings. ?

Enjoying my 1st Sox Ale now while watching Rogue One...wish I was watching a live Sox game instead. They'll be backing eventually. In the meantime I'll just say a silent toast to Farmio and fondly remember "SOX WIN, SOX WIN!!"

I actually am going to make a stop at Binnys for some red wine for my wife...I'll look for Gumballhead while I'm there....also bought the new Sox ale yesterday... Been enjoying a cold one in the evenings of lockdown

I was at the store yesterday and walked past the craft beer section (ok, maybe deliberately) and saw Zombie Dust which I remembered had been mentioned on this thread. Never had it before but enjoyed a cold one last night. That is an excellent beer!! Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers and Safe Stay Everybody!!

I really am going to miss hearing his voice when listening to games while driving in the car. I learned to enjoy the give and take between him and DJ. I truly wish he is in heaven finally driving one of those windy city limos, or whatever else makes his dreams come true. Prayers to his family at this difficult time.
  23. It would be cool to start the season by playing the scene with Terrence Mann's "baseball" speech to Ray right before the game. People will come Ray, people will most definitely come.
  24. Well, if we played all playoff games in Arizona....Adam Engel has a chance to be the World Series MVP ?
  25. I usually am not a big fan of mystery movies, but my wife really wanted to watch Knives Out. It was actually quite entertaining and worth a look imho. We actually sat down to watch it with a pizza with my college age son, and he stayed for the entire film (not something he usually does with his folks)....high praise indeed
