Perhaps the topic of him playing for the Sox may have come up at his jail visit. Hmm Ozzie plays golf with Vazquez and now he is playing for the White Sox. Urbina talks to Ozzie and there are some spots open in the bullpen. Hmm. KW never seems to make deals that cause holes unless he has a plan to fill the hole. Urbina could be in the works. I don't know the details of the attempted murder charge. I'd have to know more to make my opinion on Urbina.

KW isn't dumping his championship team. He is building a dynasty. He is executing a hostile take over of the Chicago baseball market. Rowand leaving hurt. But it brought back a future hall of famer, Thome, who then was a factor in bringing back Konerko. Hernandez and Marte no longer fit. Viz was expendable. These players plus a very good prospect Young. In return he has gotten back the super utility, Sox fan, RMack and the potential #2 (hopefully after Cooper is done) Vasquez at 7.5 per with 3 years of rights. I'm sure Garland, Count, Crede, and other key players in the future will be given the opportunity to sign with the Sox at what KW feels they are worth and what the Sox can afford. He doesn't necessarily want to get rid of them. I'm sure KW understands their business decision. With this approach, he will lock up players with fair contracts. Players who want to stay with the Sox. Those that don't want to stay, he will trade for player who do want to be Sox or are locked into fair contracts. He's not letting players walk without getting something in return and at the same time he's building good team chemistry with players happy to be Sox. Freakin Brilliant if your ask me. I'm not too worried about the farm system either. How can KW keep trading away these prospects? He has an eye for diamonds in the rough. Guys like Jenks, Uribe, Owens ect. and he gets them cheap. Shingo and Iguchi have been impact players from Japan. Also do not forget that winning and building his dynasty will bring in more payroll money and the Sox will need fewer young cheap players I trust KW. He is the GM of the World Champions!!
-
KW just needs to send out an e-mail to the league's GM's to have their best offers on the table for Garland by Christmas. He will have no shortage of offers. KW will again bring in somebody good with years on a contract for someone good on their way out. This time the Sox may get the good prospect. NICE.

Finally he will shave.

QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) I don't know if this has been posted, but it looks like the D-Backs will pay $8 million: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/20...s-vazquez_x.htm Wow. Sox need to extend KW's contract next!

Is Urbina a free agent?

QUOTE(spiderman @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Now that it seems Kenny Williams is on a mission to upgrade as much as possible, does he look to fill that Left Hander reliever role now, possibly from the free agent market ? I think he is going with a 10 man starting rotation with all of them expected to pitch complete games He may go after that lefty in the pen next unless he has another big deal planed for Garland or Count.
-
Wouldn't have to trade Garland for Crawford. Could trade Garland for the prospects that Tampa wants and then trade them for Crawford. I think KW is going with all 6. MB, JG, JC, FG, JV and BMac when they tire or get injured from pitching in the world thing. I trust KW. Even if he screws up (eventually he will), his aggressiveness is why the Sox are World Champions.
-
QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) Now thats a rotation!!!! But what about BMac BMac gets into the rotation if someone gets injured. Also consider that MB and FG are pitching in this world baseball thing this spring. Those guys have a lot of innings in them. BMac will be needed.

It's nice to have such a versitle utility guy now. What really put a smile on my face is knowing that the Sox now have a solid backup for Crede. In fact, he may be better than Crede offensively. Also, the chance that Marte could get booed at home during the playoffs made me uncomfortable. A lot of us were really sick of his walks. Marte goes to the NL central where he can K some flubs. KW is not done yet. I don't like the trade. I love it.
-
MB, FG, JC, BMac, and Duke. Cotts would be an option for 6th starter. I think it would be better to keep Cotts as a setup man and acquire a pitcher that could fill the long relief roll and be proven enough to step into the rotation in case of injury of fatigue. If JG was traded, I still feel the Sox are in good shape to defend the title. I'd rather give big bucks to MB than JG.
-
The Sox could do worse than Graffanino. I'd rather have Mueller or someone more of a 3B. If Crede goes down for an extended length of time, I'd rather have Ozuna to replace him than Graffanino. However, if Mueller replaced Crede, I'd be much more confident. Then again, I've never been a big fan of Graffanino.

QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Jon would likely test the market and possibly be out of the Sox' range. He also said, "it might not get that far." Silvy asked him what that meant, and he covered his tracks... but it still might mean something. Reading between the lines, he is telling JG to sign a reasonable extension with the Sox or he will be traded THIS offseason while KW can still get something in return for him. Trading Jon and Marte should bring back somebody of value that has more years left on the contract.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) If Nomar is brought in, I think Thomas is out the door. Unfortunately... You may be right. I think most would agree that if Konerko is brought back, Big Frank has no room on the team. Ozzie wouldn't want a DH on the bench and obviously Thome or Konerko wouldn't be sitting at their salaries. The beauty of Nomar (if no Konerko) is that Frank could come back and play DH 2 out of 3 games while Nomar has the flexibility to play the field in a few places. Plus, I think Nomar and Frank combined would still leave extra money for an upgrade for Gload, a veteran CF, or an aquisition should one of the old guys break down. I still think Konerko should be plan A, but if Frank and Nomar are plan B, I still dream of repeat. Ozzie has already shown that he can juggle with Carl and Frank. It would be easier with Nomar and Frank. Can Nomar play 2nd to spell Iguchi too? Would Nomar agree to be the DH/ supersub? I don't know. There are a lot of questions KW would need to work out, but I could see Nomar batting 2nd or 3rd for the Sox. Hell if Crede's back is bad, Nomar may be playing 3rd and hitting before Konerko and Thome.
-
If Konerko moves on, Sign Nomar. Play Thome at 1st. Get a solid backup for Thome or give Gload a shot. Then bring Big Frank Back when he is completely healthy. Thome 1b Nomar DH or Thome DH Gload or better 1B Nomar 3B Crede Rest or Thome DH Gload 1B Nomar SS Uribe rest or Thome 1b Thomas DH Nomar 3b I like idea of adding Nomar, because he will be cheap compared to his career production. He can be a true #3 hitter. He's a good athlete who can play multiple positions DH 3b SS and maybe even LF or 1b. He leaves the door open for a healthy Big Frank. Ozzie seems to be able to cure clubhouse cancer if he ever really was one. He is Crede back insurance. I love it when ex-flubs get better after they get out. He wants to stay in Chicago. KW supposedly was interested in him before. Ozzie will get him enough play time and enough rest. I know KW would not bring anyone to the Sox if he were a total jackass, a closet roid user, or whatever. As long as Nomar passes KW's scrutiny, I'd love to have him on the Sox.

QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Nov 27, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) So, there's good news and bad news: The bad news: My uncle passed away this morning. The good news: He was wearing his 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox t-shirt when he died. Go Sox. Sorry for your loss. I'm glad he was at least able to enjoy the World Champions.
-
If Big Frank is not brought back, I could see Nomar coming to the Sox if cheap. He'd be a 3D, SS, and DH. It depends on how bad he wants to stay in Chicago. He would be insurance against Thome, Hopefully Paully, Uribe, or Crede getting hurt.

Let them close it. The Sox are the better team. I want to win a World Series not tainted by some wacko idea that the league somehow fixed it. There are already a few calls that have gone the Sox way, let them have their roof. Then use the BS as motivation to shove it down their thoats.

Do tears of joy make me any less manly? What a magic season!

Who gets money for the Sox merchandise? Sox or divided by the whole MLB? Just wondering if the Sox are about to get a revenue boost.

Help! I'm stuck at work and I can't get gameday audio to work on the internet. TV and Radio are not options. Any ideas?

Relax. I've got my opening day rally sock out. Everything is gonna be fine. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) I think it's obvious that he just lost himself a playoff spot today, especially with the way that Duque pitched. Well, I thought it was obvious not to leave him in to put 3 runners on. Ozzie doesn't care what I think. I agree with you. KW needs to take Marte off if Ozzie won't.
-
Ozzie is one seriously stubborn guy. We need Damaso to get back into form... NEXT YEAR! Please Please Please don't take another chance in the playoffs when you have McCarthy to use instead!
