  1. I I got my tickets from stub hub. I'd rather pay the Sox more money for payroll than pay someone else and have fees on top of it. I'm gonna have to figure out a way to at least split some kind of season ticket plan with somebody. It was worth every penny, I just wish it was going to next year's payroll.
  2. I was in 152. The left field area was giving player like AJ and MB standing O's before the lineups were even anounced. The place was absolutely electric. There is no crying in baseball, but I had goose bumps and was overwhelmed with pride in that crowd and our SOX. It was the only playoff game I will be able to afford and it was outstanding.
  3. I jumped up and down like I had won the the lottery screaming TADAHITO!! then I picked up my wife and gave her a big hug. I high fived my buddy and his wife. Then I high fived a bunch of Sox fans I didn't know in section 152. Then I proceeded to scream my head off until I had a throbbing headache and got nauseated. I broke out and in a sweat and thought I was gonna pass out. I banged my thunder sticks together until it passed. Iguchi = Clutch
  4. I've noticed Crede with a big hunk of tobacco lately. I've never noticed that before. Nicotine is a stimulant and maybe it is helping him focus just a bit. He seems like a different player since coming off of the DL. Has anyone noticed anything new with is swing or anything. Maybe Joe just plays better with facial hair. He's always been clutch, maybe being in a closer race has kicked him in a higher level of intensity. He seems to have a different attitude. He used to seem like he went to the plate with body language that he was not confident. Now he kinda looks like he's gonna kick somebody's ass. Keep it up Mr. Crede! For you kids out there, tobacco is addictive. Don't start. It causes cancer. Seriously.
  5. I exhaled deeply and relaxed. I considered that game to be a must win or I was really worried that the Sox would start to crumble. I called a buddy of mine to celebrate. Then I started to think how these games could make the Sox sharper and more dangerous in the playoffs. I haven't been that into a game on tv since JB pitched in the 2000 playoffs.
  6. Ahh, here is my slight glimmer of hope. Why not just say that he is not going anywhere period. He could say, I plan to finish the season as a Red. He could say that he plans to finish is career as a Red. But no, he leaves the door open for more rumors by saying that. I'd love to hear a rumor about someone else for a change.
  7. I'm just sick of the damn rumor. No Griffey, fine. Get another bat. I'm sick of getting my hopes up and getting disappointed. Oh yea, GET IT STRAIGHT LEVINE! I can't wait until September 1. If I was smart, I'd avoid this whole damn trade winds section. Good night! I'll be back in the morning to get my hopes up again.
  8. Can a deal with the reds be structured so that the reds pay differing amounts depending on Griffey's health? For example, if Griffey plays all year without DL Sox pay all of his contract. If he spends > 1 month on the DL, Reds pay 2 million of that year's salary. If he spends > 50% of the year on the DL, Reds pay 4 million.
  9. I don't write the checks, but I really think the Sox should go for it with Griffey. Even if he spends the next 3 years on the DL, if he brings a World Series championship, it would be worth it. It would be the opposite of the white flag. It would be like saying "See fans! Win or Die Trying! We mean business." That is good PR. Griffey brings a lot of good PR. I make the deal even if the Sox have to eat more of that salary to get the Reds to bite. I know teams put most of their players on waivers to see who's interested. Why would the Reds care who is interested unless they planned on moving him? I have a gut feeling that they are having second thoughts and may be open to dealing him now. It's up to KW to intice them into making the move. Getting Griffey would also spark the team. Not only due to his added bat, but also because of the implication that the ownership believes that this IS the year to win it all. He adds swagger. My hopes are officially sky high.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) You do know that the Reds have to agree to the trade, right? Griffey Jr. passing through waivers is about 1/100th of the problem. Unless the Reds ownership has a trade of heart, he's not coming here. If in fact the Reds have put Griffey on waivers, I think they must have decided to part with him. Otherwise, what would be the point? I think they already know who is interested in him.
  11. If he hits a homerun, Ozzie will probably fine him. His job is to get on base and raise hell.
  12. QUOTE(BaMoFo @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) I was at Friday nights game and Freddy never seemed comfortable on the mound. He did a lot of walking around the mound, shaking off pitches etc. I read somewhere he was pitching against a good friend... maybe that had something to do with it, or maybe it was that nice wind blowing out? Welcome to Soxtalk!!!
  13. Didn't the Sox put out a press release that Blum only move made. Tracy thing did not happen. I'm not saying that Josh didn't hear it I just think it was a mistake by the radio guys. I hope I'm wrong.
  14. Can anyone think of players who still might be available to the Sox. Who would get trough waivers? How about Ken Griffy Jr.?
  15. The Sox still have their prospects and some cash. Something could still happen with players that go through waivers.
  16. I can't give up yet. Hopefully this is what happened. KW: Bruce, do me a favor and report that I'm done for the day. The D-rays won't budge and I need to put a scare into them Bruce: I don't know Kenny.... KW: It's the truth, unless they come down on their price. I'll give you the scoop on the next trade! Bruce: What the hell.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Rotoworld hints at a possible Griffey to the Cubs trade. Griffey isn't in the lineup today. Jeeze, just kick me in the nuts why don't you.
  18. Well, didn't the carmines call themselves a band of idiots. Well, I can't argue that. Maybe now they are playing gangster.
  19. Well, if KW is gonna play chicken and go down to the wire, I hope he has a couple of back up fax machines in case his breaks.
  20. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) 26 times in the last 3 years You are right. Blum would be an emergency option at short. Hopefully after Vizquel, Ozuna and before Dye and Crede.
  21. ESPN news expects the Sox to do something by the end of the day. (wow breaking news)
  22. ESPN news says that Manny went into Francona's office and said that he wanted to stay with the Red Sox and he wanted to win another championship. Thats probably a good thing to say now Manny since they couldn't work out a trade for you.
  23. Blum has 118 games at short in his career according to yahoo. He has over 400 at 3rd. Between him and Ozuna, they have it covered. That's more stable than Willie being the 3rd option at short.
