  1. We need another 5 runs to put this one away.
  2. We'll never know for sure, but I feel that Kopech could have made a huge difference in helping this team get over the top.
  3. The Cubs are in First Place but it seems like there is more buzz around the Chicago area about Robert, Eloy and the White Sox. Reinsdorf should be given great credit for signing Abreu to an extension when some people questioned that move. Abreu has not only played like an MVP, but he helped to recruit Robert and showed Moncada, Eloy and Robert how to conduct themselves on and off the field. The guy is a leader and so is TA. This team doesn't have selfish players, nut jobs, showboats and @holes on it. On the contrary the White Sox are one of the more likeable teams we have had on the South side since our 2005 WS team. Like the advertisement states - Good guys wear black.
  4. I am still watching the game live...
  5. I know Kopech probably should be a starter but if he could throw 100+ mph and be a lock down Closer that wold be huge as well. So neither, he is watching this on TV.
  6. That and there is no one else in the pen that can get these guys out.
  7. Maybe Moncada is experiencing post covid symptoms. I take his word for it.
  8. Indeed it was, but I still wanna see the 500 foot blast we've been waiting for . Madrigal is proving to be who we thought he was. Gotta love that!
  9. ReyLo watching the game from Schaumburg wondering why he couldn't have started against these guys instead of the Twins. Dunning is throwing it up there and the Royals are getting themselves out.
  10. Dunning has nothing but this isn't the Twins, so he should be able to last 4 or 5.
  11. Perhaps another pitching coach can help ReyLo develop a repeated, controlled delivery that results in him getting ahead in the count more often. If so, ReyLo could be a diamond in the rough for a team that needs a bullpen arm or a back of rotation starter. It is obvious now that the WSox need to move on from ReyLo and vice versa. Detroit gave Fulmer a shot so maybe they will pick up ReyLo after he is DFAed.
  12. This sounds awful for Yoan and there does not seem to be anything he or anyone else can do. I have friends who have had Covid and were asymptotic (no respiratory issues) but now months later, they claim to have post covid fatigue syndrome PCFS ---always tired when they never were previously. Maybe Mazara has been experiencing a bit of that as well? The athletes that have had Covid are like a canary in a coal mine since any physical impact on them can be readily ascertained and even quantified.
  13. It is a win-win to have them both on a team that is and will be in the win now mode for the next few years. Spend the money and sign up McCann. Don't do anything stupid like trying to fix something that isn't broken.
  14. 1. ReyLo 's has not beaten Minnesota for years and has an ugly lifetime ERA against them . ReyLo has been struggling after an early season injury. So why start him against the Twin in this important game for First Place ? There was time before this series started to look for other options. 2. Why use Cordero again and let him get touched up again and used up ? The game was already out of reach. 3. James McCann has had success against Berrios so why not start the guy that some here call "the back-up catcher?" 4. Mazara has had small flashes of progress, but this season is too short for whatever come-back timeline he is on. I am beginning to agree with some here who want to see the Sox pull the plug on him sooner rather than later. 5. Encarnacion continues his one dimensional approach - pull everything. However, that just doesn't work enough to keep him as full time DH. Either he has to change his approach or bring up Vaughn and start working him into the DH spot. 6. Moncada's injury is impacting his swing and inhibiting his speed on the bases. He probably botched that crazy run down by not running the guy back to second. He also probably made a throwing error to first that Abreu could not pick because he could not get into that throw. Yoan should be put on the IL until whatever he has gets better. It's getting ridiculous to see a guy out there that appears to be in pain and not able to play as we know he can. Theses and other criticisms posted here are not just fan reactions to one bad series. The reality is that the Sox have been living off Giolito and Keuchel starts, some decent bullpen holds, and a flurry of home runs. In order to compete for the crown though even more is needed from the team and from management. I guess fans like myself have to understand that there are limited options given the talent on the roster. Additionally, there is nothing that can be done with lingering injuries to players and recovery timetables. Every player wants to win and is trying their best. That is why this just isn't that easy to figure out.
  15. Then don't suggest that he doesn't want to play here unless you have information to back that up.
  16. If you have watched the gales this year you would know that McCann is not a "bench player" which is kind of an oxyMoron.
  17. Has McCann said that he doesn't want to return to play for the White Sox?
  18. ReyLo should give Nelson Cruz a shave with a 97 mph fastball. Then do it again until he backs up and takes a walk. I would not throw a strike to Cruz.
  19. ReyLo is on a short leash so i am not as worried about him as our middle relievers who will be shouldering a lot of innings tonight. Sox pitchers have to pitch around Nelson Cruz.
  20. "In the area of the hamstring" is a strange way for Renteria to describe Moncadas apparent leg ailment. That seems to encompass everything from the lower back, ass, to back of his knee.
  21. Mazara appears to have cut down on his swing and opened up a bit at the plate. He has had at least two hits to LF recently including the one yesterday off a LH pitcher. Mazara has also made two stellar plays in RF recently, an excellent sliding catch saving runs and the 27th out yesterday where he showed decent speed, a good jump and of course his extended reach because of his height. He is still young and has put up 20HR / year a few times, so maybe people should be patient.
  22. There should be an eating crow thread where posters admit they were wrong about players, the team, and even whether the season should have been allowed to proceed this year. A lot of them are seating at the edge of their seats watching every game.
  23. I am old enough to recall that George Brett had issues "in the general area of his hamstring."
  24. The trade for James Shields under similar circumstances has ended up having indirect benefits to the organization.
  25. McCann adds value and longevity to Grandal allowing him to rest his legs by playing !B or DHing, yet still taking advantage of his bat. The Sox are in a win now mode so pay McCann. This thing is working. Did you see McCann today with the clutch double or the laser throw to third base? Or the no-hitter he caught?
