I already explained this line of thought. It makes perfect sense to try and string some hits together. Otherwise, the bottom half of the lineup is just a black hole.
Leaving Kelly in wasn't that bad. He's getting paid a lot of money to perform in high leverage situations. He should have been able to get out of that inning when the bases were loaded. Once he (really, Abreu) failed and it was 9-7 he should have been pulled immediately.
Oh please…. Pulling banks was the right call and if he didnt, as things were clearly falling apart and the all star closer waiting in the wings, he would have been rightfully criticized here. TLR did NOTHING wrong.
We should be concerned. They need to have a closed door meeting. Fire the whole training staff. Then make them run laps around the field all night tonight until the sun comes up.
