  1. Smart move walking Navarro. JB Shuck will be bagging groceries in a few years.
  2. There just isn't enough talent on this Sox team to realistically compete. They are bringing a rusty red rider bb gun to a gunfight.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) Danish is complete trash. Wish I didn't invest $10 on his autograph awhile back. Danish looks like a right handed version of Zach Duke. Completely underwhelming stuff.
  4. An easy way to score runs is to have Frazier and Abreu both get hot at the same time. Is this too much to ask?
  5. The old Jose is finally starting to show up! Very nice to see.
  6. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) If you've followed him since he was drafted you'd know he struggles each time he moves up a level for a short time. This was to be expected. Then he shouldn't be batting lead off. Dude needs to learn how to work a count and take a few pitches.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) Why would any team claim him on waivers when the White Sox are stuck with him? All they have to do is let the 10 day claim period pass and then low ball the Sox with an offer...leaving an uncomfortable decision of bringing him back to the Sox or letting him go, as both would have negative consequences. I have a feeling the Sox will have no qualms giving Shields away for nothing as long as the receiving team takes on his contract.
  8. So someone will claim Shields off waivers later this season right?
  9. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) It would be more clear if you stopped being a prisoner of the moment and looked at the career averages of the players who are currently not playing well. I've been locked in this prison for 6 weeks now. One good month of baseball means nothing. This is a bad baseball team that is sorely lacking in talent. I'm actually watching the the game with a foreign friend and he is very confused. I have to explain to him that, yes, the Sox are at the same level as the other team. He says the players on the other team are so much better that it doesn't seem fair lol.
  10. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) I do. I wouldn't bet my house on it, but this is a talented team that had the best record in the AL in early May. Throw in the fact that the Royals aren't world-beaters anymore and DET and CLE are good-but-not-great, and I could see the Sox getting hot, winning 92 games and eeking out a division win. That said, I stand by my original prediction of 85 wins and no playoffs. talented team? Please give me some of whatever you are smoking or drinking man!
  11. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) The only rationalization that I can think of is that Hahn thinks that his job is not safe and he's reaching. Hahn's job shouldn't be close to safe. This clown has made nothing but bad moves the last two years. This team is an absolute dumpster fire and his piss poor decisions are a big reason for that.
  12. You can't fire all the players but you sure as hell can fire the manager and GM!
  13. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) How many runs with Shields give up this inning? 2! Walk and a blast.
  14. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:28 PM) Tim will struggle for awhile then will get going. I'm fully expecting that Anderson isn't ready for the show. He should still be down in Charlotte.
  15. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) Only 2 1/2 years left on Shields' contract. He will be put on waivers next month when the Sox are ten games out. Hopefully a few more arms go down on a contender and someone scoops Shields up.
  16. And the dumpster diving continues. Is Carl Crawford next?
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) Not to mention extremely premature. Seriously 1 start? Shields has gotten absolutely demolished in two straight starts now. He looks gassed and/or hurt. There was a reason San Diego gave him up for peanuts.
  18. Shuck's stuff honestly didn't look much worse than what Jennings and Duke are throwing up there. That is not a good thing.
  19. There is no way that the Sox burn this down and start selling pieces. They are in the second year of some sort of three year plan. Selling now would just be an admission that Williams and Hahn are utter failures without a clue.
  20. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 11:12 PM) The 2013 Indians made the WC because they absolutely dominated the Sox that year. They went like 15-4 or something. Not sure why the Sox play poorly against division opponents not named the Twins. It's not a big shock as to why the Sox are struggling against KC, Cleveland, and Detroit. Those 3 teams simply have more talent than the Sox. Cleveland and Detroit much more so. The Sox are just absolutely snake bitten against KC. That KC team has been decimated by injuries this year and they still have the Sox number. You could dress up KC's AAA squad in Royals blue and the Sox would still pee down their leg against them.
  21. Carl Crawford was just released by the Dodgers. Hahn's cell is likely being blown up by KW at this very minute.
  22. It is now June 1st and Gordon Beckham has a higher OPS than Abreu. Looking more and more like Abreu just isn't going to hit this year for whatever reason.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 31, 2016 -> 08:59 PM) Here we go again, 9th inning and a lead...is this the night the Sox can finally get over their current mental block? Sox aren't playing KC. Robertson should nail this down no problem.
