Ray Rice Cut and Suspended Indefinitely

Roger Goodell is a f***ing joke. I legitimately hate everything about the NFL other than the actual football. -

The Big 10 is a freaking joke. The entire conference is basically eliminated from playoff contention tonight and rightfully so. There isn't a team in this conference that is a top 10 team in America, let alone top 4. -

So when does the myth that Pat Fitzgerald is a great coach finally end? -

Well, we will see how MSU plays against Oregon tonight but wow does the Big 10 look just awful this year. -

Someday Illinois will hire a football coach who isn't a f***ing moron. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 10:27 AM) D-Rose looks like a dude who's super athletic but has never played basketball this morning. He's been really bad throughout the tournament. I'm glad he is playing to get rid of some of the rust.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 03:41 PM) I think you've nailed other coach's pitches to him regarding why he shouldnt go to Illinois. Not really. The only true PG on Illinois' roster next year is Tate and both Evans and Brunson will be better than him from day 1. Cosby can play some PG but he really is more of a SG. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 10:44 PM) Then you've still got Russell, Almora, Schwarber, McKinney and Vogelbach. Why even mention Vogelbach? Dude is a DH who has been incredibly mediocre in A ball the last couple years. I don't get the love for Almora as an elite prospect either. I know he plays CF, but he has shown no power at all and never walks. He also doesn't steal bases.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 07:39 PM) Yep, his performance since signing the extension has been horrendous. Terrible luck for the White Sox on that one. Can't fault them to signing a really good, young pitcher who had no history of injuries to a market/below market deal.
-
John Danks is f***ing awful and has been since he got injured. It sucks but that is reality. Anyone banking on him ever being a decent starting pitcher again is doing so based on blind hope.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 07:31 AM) i think Fitzgerald is going to have to step back and realize that the golden boy luster CAN wear off, and stop having some of the bizarre press conferences he has had the past couple years. I don't think I've ever heard a coach make as many excuses for a loss as Fitzgerald has for their loss to Cal. -
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) No that's whats free agency is for. Im trading Quintana, with the thought that Rodon will take his spot in the rotation some point during the season. I would sign Brandon McCarthy to a contract and he would be my new number 2 going forward in 2015, and I would sign Brett Anderon to a short term contract (2 years max) that is also heavy on incentives, and if he stays healthy and pitches well I would flip him at the deadline. ROTATION: Sale, McCarthy, Danks, Noesi, Anderson. So your number 2 starter is oft injured and has never made 30 starts in a season before this year (assuming he makes 2 more starts). You're #3 starter sucks. You're #4 starter has pitched like a #5 at best during his major league career and your #5 starter is guaranteed to get injured. That seems like a recipe for a great season.
-
Lol at Detroit's defense. Wow are they awful.
-
Well there have basically been 3 errors already in this game (despite the official scorer generously giving hit to Hunter and Eaton). Great defense being played.
-
How is that a base hit?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) Anyone loving the Simpsons 24/7 marathon? Yeah yeah I know it's the cool thing to s*** on the show but every season still has its redeeming qualities. It has been awesome. The first nine or 10 seasons of that show are basically perfection. I've stopped watching it on a weekly basis because it did fall off but even post season 10 there have been some great episodes (and the next few seasons after season 10 were still pretty great).

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 11:08 AM) I believe there is some protection on it, but i'm not certain. I also wouldn't expect it to be a high pick. We are talking about the east here and Bosh / Wade / Deng plus the rest of the roster should be able to secure a playoff spot. It is top 10 protected. The Heat will be better than that so the 76ers will get the pick but I'd guess it will probably be right around the 20th pick.

Baez is a mess at the plate. Other than that first series against Colorado he's been absolutely horrible. Not shocking given his age and his strikeout problems in the minors but it is going to be really interesting to see how he adjusts. He has a ton of talent and his power is insane but his approach and plate discipline is really really bad so far.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 19, 2014 -> 06:28 PM) Just to curb things a bit. There is a difference between 3 inning games / outings and a typical start. Guys seeing your more times, etc. You can excel out of the pen quicker and easier then you can out of the rotation. Even if he is lights out in the pen in September, there could be many reasons to have him start next year in the minors to continue to actually work on secondary pitches, etc, so that he's capable of excelling deep into games, etc. If the plan is to start him in the minors next year the Sox shouldn't be calling him up in September this year.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) Here we go again. Avi's over-aggressiveness going for a triple there might end up hurting, as you never make the 1st or 3rd out at third. He didn't. He made the 2nd out at 3rd. -

LOL at Hawk and Stone perpetuating the myth that Beckham has good range. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2014 -> 06:28 PM) Danks has nothing yet again. He's terrible. I doubt anyone was actually interested in acquiring his whole contract but if Hahn had the opportunity to dump his contract he should have done so even if we got nothing in return.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) Then he should go to the SEC. I don't want a dickface coaching ND. I'm not saying I want Charlie Weis back and go 7-5 every year, but there has to be somebody out there who can win without being shady. I'm actually not sure that is possible (well at least winning big) in college football. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 04:10 PM) If the conventional wisdom is that all of these guys suck and need to be dumped, why is it assumed that somehow someone else wants them? Dunn would actually be an upgrade for some teams at the DH spot. I'm really surprised he hasn't been moved yet. Beckham on the other hand...
