  1. So the rule is that you can apparently call a common foul there (but that wasn't called) because Tate crossed the free throw stripe and made contact with Tate (although Trice flopped like crazy and there wasn't a lot of contact) but I literally don't think I've ever seen a player get called for a common foul for boxing out a shooter. However, the ball was live when the contact was made so the refs completely blew the call which is inexcusable given that they went to the monitor to make the call. But per usual there won't be any consequences for the refs literally making up a call.
  2. Bwhahaha. So f***ing ridiculous. I think the explanation makes it even worse. The ball is live after a shooter shoots a free throw on the front end of a one and one f*** faces. And Tate barely made any contact with Trice and Trice flopped like a little b****.
  3. Also, Dakich likes to b**** about flopping constantly (as he should) but didn't point out Trice's ridiculous flop when Tate barely bumped him. Anyone who has played sports knows that Tate's contact there isn't even close to enough to knock someone down.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 7, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) Dakich on Twitter being adamant it was a flagrant foul. I don't know if it's in the rule book, but if so, it's absurd. So every time a shooter gets boxed out on a live ball its a flagrant foul? Because that is what happened. That was a one and one situation so the ball is live when it leaves Trice's hand.
  5. Huge win playing 5 on 8 for Illinois today. Groce should rip into the refs in his presser despite the win. Jesus the refs were ridiculously bad.
  6. If Illinois loses this is 100% on the refs. Illinois won this game.
  7. Wow, f*** off refs. That is the most absurd call I have ever seen.
  8. Seriously, since when are you not allowed to box out a shooter?
  9. Costello throws Starks out of the way for a rebound and no call. Announcers are so biased for MSU it isn't even funny. Trice barely even got touched there.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 7, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) I know most illinois fans don't like him, but I think they'll miss some of the things Egwu does next year. ? Thought it looks clearly off Costello. I like that announcers clearly ignore that Costello's hand was in there. Officiating has been ridiculous in MSU's favor in this game. Especially since Costello also got away with a clear foul going for that rebound.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 7, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) I know most illinois fans don't like him, but I think they'll miss some of the things Egwu does next year. They will miss him some on defense but he generally is a poor rebounder and he is brutal on offense. Today he has been fantastic. If he played like this all of the time everybody would love him.
  12. And Jaylon Tate just killed Illinois in that stretch. Airballs a wide open 3 which leads to a run out for MSU and then commits an offensive foul.
  13. And Nunn needs to finish that layup but he clearly got fouled there as well. Sigh.
  14. Lol at that not being a foul on Valentine on that shot Hill made. Just incredibly obvious.
  15. Egwu playing his best game of the year so far today. Hopefully Illinois can find a way to steal this one.
  16. So I have to imagine Marcus Foster either transfers out or goes pro after this year right? It is amazing how often Bruce Weber has issues with his best player.
  17. Aaron Bailey transferring from Illinois. That sucks, particularly with how fragile Wes Lunt has proven to be so far in his college career.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 06:36 PM) You know who looked pretty terrible his first year? Jimmy Buckets. How's that working out? Butler was actually pretty solid as a rookie in his very limited minutes.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) I'd agree. Gore is right on the edge of a HOF caliber career and all he needs is a bit more longevity. Guys around 10k are in the "hall of very good" range and if they've done something spectacular in the process that could put them in the HOF. A bit more longevity beyond that and that makes them HOF worthy. That would include Bettis. Bettis was about league average or below league average in ypc most years in his career. A guy being mediocre for a long time isn't deserving of being in the hall of fame.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 31, 2015 -> 10:39 PM) Come on man, #6 running back in NFL history total yards, tied at #10 in rushing touchdowns? Pace will get in within a couple years, the NFL does this annoying thing where there's not enough slots so they kinda put people in to make sure they get in, but Bettis was a HOF running back by my standards. Jerome Bettis isn't close to a hall of famer in my opinion. Decent player who was decent for a long time. Should we put every running back in who rushes for 10,000 yards? A guy like Clinton Portis had a much better peak than Bettis, rushed for nearly 10,000 yards but didn't play as long. Should he be in? Give me Terrell Davis all day over Bettis as well. If you put in Bettis you might as well also put in Steven Jackson, Fred Taylor and Corey Dillon, Frank Gore, Warrick Dunn etc. since they were all superior players and rushed for over 10,000 yards.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 31, 2015 -> 10:32 PM) And yet Jerome Bettis was elected. Ok then. Nothing screams Hall of Fame like 3.9 yards per carry. Absolutely f***ing ridiculous. Bettis basically got in on longevity and no other reason. The guy only averaged over 4 ypc 4 times in his entire career. Warner, Harrison and Pace (particularly Pace and Harrison) are infinitely more deserving than Bettis.
  22. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jan 31, 2015 -> 08:57 PM) Great end and win for Duke!! Only 8 scholarship players on their team now and 4 are freshmen It must be incredibly tough to win with 8 McDonald's All Americans and the best Center in the country. I can't fathom trying to win games with that roster.
