  1. QUOTE(SoxFan77 @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) What people above failed to ask.. What are you doing this for? IMO, either start with KungFu or JKD, both give you a basis foundation for other forms. I did it backwards, I took Brazilian jujitsu, then stand up. But, in the end you need to tell me/us what your goals are for this..Brazilian is amazing for cardio, I was in the best shape (cardio wise) in my life when I trained. 6 hours a week of sparing will kick your ass into shape fast. Basically, just a zest to learn something new and something useful that I am interested in. And if it is practical to use, then it is all the more helpful.
  2. The Crown Jewel of the Embassy Jimmy Rave has been released from his ROH contract and released from FIP as well. Supposedly, he got an ear injury at a recent event and lashed out at Gabe and the higher ups demanding his release during the middle of the event backstage. This is according to the PWInsider and not Gabe. Gabe has not made a statement yet to break this news. However, there are rumors that this may be part of a new ROH gimmick/idea called the Abused Society/Project 161 and he'd be involved in that. It isn't clear if he has legitimately been released or if this is an elaborate work.
  3. This seems to be something that hasn't been talked about much here. We've talked about working out and body discipline in that fashion but I was wondering if anybody is an active martial artist and if so, what martial art? I am thinking about beginning in learning tae kwon do or jujitsu (trying to decide which one, leaning toward TKD). Just something to add to the self-control/self-discipline/self-improvement discussions we've had previously regarding working out, nutrition, etc.
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) It's always about the sinisterism of George W. Bush and his administration, but never about Congress. MMMMMMMMkay. Why can't people admit that it's the whole damn government? Both sides of the aisle? Because, "MY" people can do no wrong. BLECH. When did I say it was just Bush? I just wonder how the entire US government can pay this explicit, obscene amount of money to mercenaries but not to soldiers who volunteer for the defense of their country rather than simply going after the almighty dollar.
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) Because it's not that simple and you know it. Well, a lot of money is going to private contractors (read: mercenaries) like those from Blackwater USA. They are a private company of former special ops, Green Berets, etc. making lots of money in taxpayer dollars with little to no oversight of their activities. Blackwater was awarded the prize contract in Iraq to provide security for the original head of the U.S. occupation, Paul Bremer. At the time, it was a $21 million contract, but more important than the money was the prestige that came with being the guys who were guarding the head of the U.S. occupation. They have continued to work there as 'private contractors' making much, much, much more than the US soldiers who enlisted. How is it that the US government (Congress, the President) can find this incredible amount of money to pay mercenaries but is dragging its heels and threatening to veto a pay raise for US soldiers who are in it for the defense of their country rather than simply making the almighty dollar in the quickest way possible like the mercenaries?
  6. QUOTE(Soxy @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) Sounds like her mom is a piece of work. I'm not sure saying something to her mom would actually accomplish anything. If I were her, I would continue being estranged from her and thank my lucky stars I don't have to deal with Cpt. Crazy. A winner is you, Soxy.
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 04:52 PM) Oh goodie. Another Vietnam and Iraq comparison. While some aspects of said analogy are tenuous at best, other major parts do resonate quite loudly. Justin Raimondo new column about the armament sales to other Mid East countries, the war in Iraq, etc. http://antiwar.com/justin/
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) I am NOT Emo!!! And with your marking for Orton, I don't think you're a fan of technical wrestling, either. And Michelle McCool should have been on Survivor. It would be great promos -- she's eating terrible food and living in the wilderness but "She's loving life!"
  9. Just don't bring up B. Brian Blair in front of him. Did the Sheik humble anybody?
  10. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) Hardy and his dance when he stands on the ramp is so old and retarded. I'd be embarrassed if I was him. Thank God the stroke is gone. Jeff Hardy: Making goth kids and obese girls mark since the 1990's. Matt Hardy: Making emo kids and technical wrestling fans mark since the breakup with Amy Dumas.
  11. Match from Nosawa's promotion poking fun at the whole Angle/Lesnar/IWGP stuff. Muscle Lesnar vs Kiku Angle (Kikutaro has a history of doing other wrestlers in homages like Stan Hansen, Cactus Jack, etc.) http://www.dailymotion.com/tag/lesnar/vide...u-angle-vs-josh
  12. QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) Is there a 6-8 week acting/public speaking course he can take? You say your name is The Critic and you are funny. I say that you are The Critic and you're a bathturd! /lashley And is anybody else marking that Stevie seems to be getting a midcard push? Two wins in a row! Also, for good wrestling games -- Fire Pro Returns is coming from Japan to the states. It is a 2d wrestling game but supposedly awesome and very high quality in terms of matches, character options, etc.
  13. http://cbs13.com/slideshows/local_slidesho...44/view?slide=0 Just bringing a little laughs to the board.
  14. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) Nope. but you shouldn't be despondent when good news, however slight, shows up, just because you chose to ride with the Nutroots. I don't mean to be crass but rather direct, so please do not mistake that as writing on a message board is a poor medium for inflection, etc. Explain how exactly we're nutroots when every possible explanation for this invasion that was given was proven false. Explain how exactly we're nutroots when the antiwar movement was pretty much right about the entire damn invasion rhetoric BS that 70% of the public bought as a bill of goods back in 2003. The US needs to GTFO and set up a Marshall Plan style assistance package for the country that we recklessly f***ed up beyond recognition in an aggressive, pre-emptive war. The scariest thing about the war is not the amount of Iraqi and US dead/wounded. It isn't the fact that the country is damn near FUBAR. It isn't the amount of mental/physical trauma that US soldiers and Iraqis are facing even after they have finished with combat. What I find severely frightening in Iraq is US taxpayer dollars going to private mercenary fighting firms such as Blackwater USA who have no oversight or accountability for their actions within Iraq. There is no oversight from the US government, despite being a paying customer, for any actions that Blackwater may perpetrate inside Iraq or any other place where they are stationed.
  15. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 01:33 PM) Angle's wife and daughter make their onscreen debut on Thursday's Impact, where Karen leaves Kurt. (Oh great! I love wrestling soap operas.) The title match at Hard Justice is set. Joe v Angle with the TNA World title, Kurt's meaningless IWGP Title, and Joe's X-Division Title and Tag Team Titles on the line. At the end of the second episode taped yesterday, Team 3D beat Joe up to get their belts back. Not sure if they did or not. Love the Doomsday concept. And Matt Morgan is coming in. The IWGP belt is now the IGF Third Belt Championship. The timeline of it going from IWGP to IGF (and thus becoming meaningless) is in the thread earlier from me. They don't have enough time to showcase the talent they've got already and they're not only hiring more but bringing in Kurt's wife for an angel. ::shakes head::
  16. Test's new name is "The Punisher" Andrew Martin. The only thing that is punishing is having his jobber horse faced ass on my television in my weekly wrestling consumption. And the first gimmick match for Hard Justice is out. It is a "Doomsday Chamber of Blood" match. Basically the 6 sides of steel with tons of barbed wire. You have to bust somebody open to get a pin. Winner gets the TNA Champ at the September PPV.
  17. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) Morgan and Test will make their TNA debut tonight at the iMPACT! tapings. That'll put asses in the seats. I really want TNA to be a viable second brand of wrestling on television but they are doing almost everything to kick themselves straight in the junk. This is ridiculous.
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) hmmm, for some reason the video wont load for me, im getting the angry red X The jobber botches a snap mare and drops Saturn on his head. Saturn gets up, slaps away a punch attempt and goes nuts kicking him, hitting a few clubbing blows and then throws him out of the ring roughly. He follows him out, asks the guy loudly if he's alright and then picks him up running him back first into the ring steps at high speed.
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) Right off the bat Vick threw those guys under the bus and tried to pin it all on them. I dont know what he expected, but I thought they were going to turn on him one by one. I dont think Taylor is going to be the only one that turns on him either. There's no honor amongst thieves...er, dogfighting gamblers in this case.
  20. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) I posted this too. they pulled out of because No Mercy and a Raw taping was scheduled for the week before and the 3rd ROH ppv is two weeks before. That's a lot of wrestling in a month's time - and as BFG is TNA's Wrestlemania, they need to have a big crowd. TNA with Pacman Jones will get them ESPN coverage, but will it really translate to ppv buys? Also, PWInsider is also saying they have signed Test. Why not? They're also looking at Matt Morgan and Albert too.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 10:19 AM) Daddy didn't have any money till gramps gave it to him. Baron should have made all of them work for their supper, starting with his kids. I think he's giving everything to charity so daddy nor the rest of the family is going to get anything, basically because Paris has acted like an outright ass to say the least.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) My day is is a little brighter now. Not only does she not get the $60 mil but he is giving $2.4 billion to charity in the Hilton Foundation charities. So, it's doubly awesome of charity and "No. Yous cannot has the inheritance. Not yours." to Paris.
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 09:47 AM) Without this, she is nothing. Or is she milking off Daddy's money? Gee, I wonder. I think she's living off of daddy's money and her business ventures like her CD, book, perfume, etc. But this is still $60 mil that she's not going to get her meathooks on. Good to see one of the Hilton's taking a positive moral stand in the news media nowadays.
