QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 06:31 PM) Like seriously, you guys are hilarious with these resthold cracks.. i am literally rolling on the floor, that how funny and fresh these jokes are, seriously, how you can come up with new shots at Orton all the time.. I am astonished That last one was pretty funny though. With a bigger and more varied arsenal, it can only bring good things for the Legend Destroyer. It is forcing him to really go for it in and out of the ring to live up to the potential he's got. -

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) I may have to disagree, they've been building up Orton as the "Legend Destroyer" so why not have him be the man to stop the "unstoppable" I wouldnt be surprised to see a clean win. Theres a piece on wwe.com about Edge having his surgery. Supposedly it was worst than expected, and could of been career-threatening if he would of waited to get it checked out. To the ROH fans: Anyone else as excited as I am that this Briscoes/Steen & Generico feud is gonna last at least for the rest of the summer? Yes, Orton is the "Legend Destroyer" thanks to He Who Shall Not Be Named. And I am excited about this Briscoes/Steen and Generico feud. Although Steen is one husky/chubby bastard. I do mark for Generico though, Ole! This Friday is a four way fray for the FIP Heavyweight belt at the ROH show with Aries, Strong, Gran Akuma from Chikara and Jimmy Rave. -

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 05:57 PM) That Storm thing is awesome - what's on there? Apparently, Jackass (specifically Johnny Knoxville) pulled out of Summerslam, which is why WWE pulled the trigger on keeping the Hardy feud alive. Orton was supposed to wrestle Cody Rhodes at SS, but with the decision to move Lashley away from Cena (even though their Bash match was pretty good), they needed a top heel for Cena. Also, down the road for Orton is still Triple H, I hear. I wonder, can a guy get "Orton'd" TWICE? It's dark matches when he and Regal had the tag titles, some matches from the 90's when he was with WAR (Liger, etc.), a bunch against Jericho, Doug Williams in 1PW. He also has three promotional clips show pieces of his work in WWF, ECW and WCW. It's pretty freaking sweet. -

Supposedly Randy Orton is no longer the Legend Killer due to the recent actions of He Who Shall Never Be Mentioned By WWE and is now becoming the Legend Destroyer. And oh yeah, I got a Best of Lance Storm 2 disc DVD set from Storm Wrestling Academy as a prize for a club he's got on his site. w00t. -
With the insanity she's had to deal with since she was a little child and the pressures from her parents, is it any wonder she's trying to use these substances to escape reality? She was in advertising at age 10. The father was in prison and a high pressure mother, the media spotlight of every move with little/no privacy even for the most private activities, the media insanity of the body image ideal that she has to constantly maintain to stay popular/make money/appease her handlers...

All I can say about that Dweem/Orton match is: "Needs more cowbell!" If they build this up good between Cody and Orton, it could be a great feud to build up two young talents. Now, here's to hoping the booking committee does it right. -

Noble got a promotion. He's now going to be assisting as an agent with match making. And is it immoral/wrong to call Umaga's running move in the corner "The ATM"?' And I shed a tear that they got rid of the 4 corner tapping stip to the bullrope match tonight between Orton and Dweem. -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 09:19 PM) Those matches suck. 4-6 guys get pinned in less than 10 minutes. Noble or Yang needs to win. Let both of them join Cade and Murdoch for a redneck stable with Yang as the head but nobody acknowledges he's Asian. -
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070721/ap_on_...vyMYL7EM423IxIF SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador - The Salvadoran government said Friday it will ask the Vatican to beatify slain Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero, but it will not accept responsibility in his 1980 killing. ADVERTISEMENT Security and Justice Vice Minister Astor Escalante announced the decision during a meeting with supporters of the archbishop at the Inter-American Commission for Human Rights' offices in Washington late Wednesday . Deputy Foreign Minister Eduardo Calix confirmed the decision Friday in an interview with The Associated Press in El Salvador. "The state can't accept responsibility because there was a clear person responsible for the killing, and that person was tried," Escalante said. A Salvadoran court found former death squad member Alvaro Saravia guilty of fatally shooting Romero in the late 1980s. Saravia was released from prison with a 1993 amnesty after El Salvador's 1992 peace accords. Romero was assassinated in 1980 after he urged the military to halt death squads that killed thousands of suspected guerrillas and leftist opponents of the government. -- If it goes forward with sainthood, he'd be pretty deserving. And also, excellent film called "Romero" if anybody wants/needs to know more information about what he did.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) Personally, I don't have any issue with Senators and their sex life. It's not of my concern. However, I do feel when they spend a good amount of time in their public life railing against it and pushing to make it difficult for other individuals to freely engage in their own sex lives, these public officials should be exposed for the hypocritical frauds that they are. In previous appearance, the good Senator's wife intimated that she'd cut off her husbands balls if he ever cheated on her. That came out a couple weeks ago and the good Senator mysteriously disappeared from the public eye for a week. Coincidence? Exactly what Flynt and Hustler think. They don't care if a governmental worker likes to be tied up and beaten with a wet piece of celery by a person dressed up in a Daffy Duck outfit from someone who is not their wife/husband. However, they do care about affairs when the person is a hypocritical blowhard who talks the family values platform in public. I couldn't care less who the person is having sex with as long as they don't turn hypocritical in their attitude in government.

This is by far the shadiest administration in my lifetime. If there is nothing to hide I would think they would try to look cooperative for once. I hate this logic. Were you one of the same liberals who said George W Bush violated the bill of rights when he spied on people which actually ccaught some of the terrorists? I vividly recall the right wing here responding with "If you have nothing to hide, why are you worried?" Minors had the same logic when there was a discussion of Sheriff Joe wanted to set up illegal road blocks to check cars for drugs. A winner is you. Stupid opportunists using anything to hit the Bushistas. But then again, this from Rex: I wanna reset this topic because I'm not sure if everyone understands what's happening here. The White House is claiming executive privilege on communications between White House staffers done on emails paid for by the Republican party. The White House used those emails so that the email communications between White House staffers for certain issues wouldn't actually be in the public record. Issues like political motivations for firing people in the Justice Department. Now this is what I don't understand. If they aren't in the public record because they were conversations between administration officials on private email, and the conversations are between administration officials and not with the President, how can the administration rightly claim executive privilege? -- I understand the need for executive privilege at times for any administration but I am confused as to how they can claim it in this specific case.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) We took our baby on a plane for the first time during Memorial Day weekend. To be honest, I was frantic that OUR baby was going to be the fussy one on the plane. I know I didn't want to be looked at by 200 other people as THE SCREAMING BABY people. Amazingly, she was pretty good the whole trip, save for one shriek. The truth is, you can't stop babies from screaming, and sometimes you have to fly, even if it's long trips. It annoys me to see people b**** about it. All I know is I'm very cognizant of my surroundings and I will do what I can to keep my child quiet, but that may not be 100% possible. That happened on my flight from O'Hare to SFO. There was a young baby on the plane (at most, maybe a year old) and he was upset at being in the air. So, he was crying a lot to the point where he was almost hyperventilating and tiring himself out. But, it was loud. This middle aged guy sitting next to me actually told the parents "You need to shut your kid the f*** up." It was really uncalled for because most of the plane didn't give a s***/was watching the movie fine/nobody was really bothered." So, I turned to the guy and said "We already have one baby complaining on the flight. We don't need another one. I'm sure if he could tell us exactly what it is he's upset at, he would." The guy got all pissy but really shut the f*** up. The kid can't really control his screaming because he lacked the language to say "Feed me!", "Change me!" etc. That middle aged douchebag could control his idiocy.

Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN
LowerCaseRepublican replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Ron Mexico was tacky and tasteless to me, but it was one of those unspoken opportunities and realities for some athletes if they decide to engage in such a behavior. The water bottle incident was personal drug use. It did not harm anybody else. Congrats, he, like millions of other Americans engage in recreational drug use that does not harm any other person if handled responsibly. As a role model and person in the limelight, it is probably not wise for him to be doing it but nobody asked him if he ever wanted to be a role model. He's not paid to be a role model. He's paid to throw passes in a mediocre fashion and run quite often with a ball. The middle finger to the fans. Again, he's harassed for doing something most other people do. How many of you have ever vented about somebody not knowing the reality of your job b****ing you out or critiquing what you do? Exactly. What about having the fan apologize (from Doug Stanhope): Mr. Vick "I'd like to say that I am truly sorry - not only to Mr. Vick who has tried his best to fulfill my empty life by throwing a ball around - but also to my friends and family who I embarrassed by drinking too many overpriced beers and then shouting into the face of an athlete so savagely that he actually responded by extending his middle finger - making my life seem complete by finally being acknowledged. For this I realize that I am a worthless asshole." I let all that other stuff slide. But this. This is disgusting and morally repugnant to me. He's innocent until proven guilty but if he did do this sickening garbage, then he deserves his long stay in a federal PMITA prison watching his career swirl in circles down the toilet. His actions have not only harmed others, been illegal but it has also placed one of the largest sports organizations and a major sports franchise into a very precious, almost no-win situation. If they cut him/get rid of him early and he beats the rap, then they play "the race card" that the NFL/Falcons is biased. If they wait, they get blasted for not being firm with this behavior policy and wanting to reform the image of the NFL players as has been the commissioner's new plan. He's really f***ed things up, even if he is innocent (which I highly doubt he is). -
http://www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6814836 14 years after they were initially convicted with little to no evidence (court tv case history here: http://www.crimelibrary.com/notorious_murd...is/index_1.html ), they have DNA evidence that does not link any of the 3 convicted people to the murder scene. It has been a highly contested case due to the heinousness of the crime and the controversial/unpopular beliefs of some of the "WM 3". Hip hop hooray to fairness and logic in the legal system. Here's hoping that they get it right the 2nd time around.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years...ml?link=rssfeed Hilarious. And more funny... Winston's mother, Tonya Lewis, said she plans to speak to her attorney, former city councilman George Forbes, about filing a lawsuit against Polensek. She said she also has written a letter to black activist Al Sharpton. Lewis said she views Polensek's letter as a death threat against her son because the councilman said "he didn't care which one came first, that he went to jail or the cemetery." She also said he referred to Winston as "dumber than mud," which she considers a racist remark. I laughed so hard when I read this story. So much so that this letter may be un-Constitutional for violating a Constitutional amendment. It seems that the author is unable to own people.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 04:35 PM) We've got another dead wrestler. John Kronus, of the Eliminators in ECW with Perry Saturn, was found dead in his apartment. No other details yet. R.I.P. John. RIP Kronus. And with all the dead wrestlers the media whores on -- meanwhile, none of the reporters mentions the guys like Saturn -- , Satullo was shot three times in the neck with a .25 caliber handgun during an attempted rape which Satullo interfered and stopped, suffering severe damage to his C-5, C-6, and C-7 vertebrae. Satullo only learned of this after he visited a physician and complained of burning sensations in his neck, originally attributing the impact to a punch from behind. After having steel plates and screws inserted into his neck, Satullo returned to the ring on September 17, 2004, and continued to receive epidural treatment. Since then, Satullo has continued to make appearances on the independent circuit but has gone into partial retirement due to the severity of his neck injury. The man was shot 3 times and still not only walks but f***ing wrestles. -

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 01:49 PM) Morrison? WTF? Johnny NITRO was a GREAT character. How stupid. Punk to win the belt on Sunday? Smackdown is a disaster. Edge is one of my favs and now I'm crying. I don't like him as a worker, but they should put the belt on Kane this weekend. He deserves it, and in this musical chairs booking, why not? I'd prefer Matt Hardy but that'll never happen. Talk about TNA moving Bound for Glory away from Chicago. I hate it beause I was gonna fly in for it, but with two other ppv's in a month, it's smart to go somewhere else. Hey TNA, come to LA! I picked the wrong week to stop taking amphetamines. Nitro was getting stale. He was seen as a Raw mid-carder who couldn't hack it on the A show...after repeated defeats to Cena, Jeff Hardy, etc., it was time for a new direction. Plus, the whole paparazzi thing was stale and he's got no Melina for the couple plus no Mercury. This gives him a fresh start and showing that he doesn't need "Generic Cocky Heel Gimmick #781723 to get over", especially because it was so sufficiently buried on Raw. He's a good worker, he just needed the 'change of scenery'. And TNA sucks. A Joe/Angle match for ALL of the belts? WTF kind of booking is that?! -
