  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 09:20 AM) Is there a video of this somewhere? WrestlingGoneWrong.com - Perry Saturn punishes Mike Bell. Some say this is why he was saddled with the Moppy gimmick as punishment.
  2. Per PWInsider: TNA just publicized that they signed Pacman Jones to a wrestling contract. TNA: We are wrestling. /soaked in green And oh yeah, Misawa is supposedly booked for ROH in November.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 07:23 PM) Which begs the question... if the US had someone in custody whose silence could lead to the deaths of thousands of people, who would be in favor of torture, and who would be in favor of that person still having rights? Would it make a difference if it was a US citizen or not? The fact remains that it is no longer 'eliminate bin Laden' = eliminate al Qaeda. Al Qaeda has become much more of an amorphous, loose ideology for people with a highly decentralized structure. And AlphaDog, --while I won't defend this poorly written Guardian article (perhaps they are talking about a recent report in regards to the Bush regime's use of rendition and also mentioned this 1998 instance as well? I'm trying to figure out a logical reasoning for it outside of the ones already mentioned in the thread) -- it is more a testament to the activities of the CIA since their inception more than any Presidential administration (although leaving the CIA unchecked since their inception does squarely fall on the executive branch throughout all people who have been in the Oval Office seat) -- KUBARK, their funding of psychological ops inside the US universities psychology programs (they paid for testing), their usage of illegal drugs to elicit confessions/try to develop a truth serum and numerous other activities related to torture activities. You can find more in a book called "A Question of Torture". The author's name is McCoy. It's an interesting read from a historian who unearthed documents related to the CIA history of interest in psychological operations. The British learned with the H Block hunger strikes and their use of torture against Irish/IRA members that it doesn't end an opposition in any substantive fashion. Hence, they wanted to disallow the use of CIA torture tactics/techniques.
  4. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) Claudio Castagnoli wins the Ring of Honor Race To The Top Tournament last night. He beats El Generico in the finals in what has been called a real show-stealer. Somewhere LCR is quietly weeping that Hero took the L against Generico last night. Damn right. Although I am also somewhat of a Generico mark so it was okay. Did enjoy the Most Money Making Man win...and seeing Hillbilly Jesus do the job to Pelle Primeau.
  5. Some indy jobbers are complaining that LAX is "unprofessional". http://web.charleston.net/news/2007/jul/29...ures_mack11694/ My favorite part is the jobber team complaining that they like to work stiff with other workers all the time but then complained when they got stiffed by Homicide and Hernandez who gave them a purple welt and a stiff Border Toss. If this isn't the first time the guy has had a collapsed lung, then perhaps he should think about not taking dangerous bumps or being a stiff wrestler who then complains when he gets stiffed back. The article does a great job defaming LAX. But I wonder if LAX knew that these two guys were going to try to stiff them in the ring or not in advance. I can see it being surprising and getting stiffed can cause people to get pissed off (see Saturn vs Jobber where he legit kicks the s*** out of him and throws him outside of the ring landing on his neck). And who is to say the guy just didn't take the move properly? Why blame Hernandez if the other guy can't take the elevated bump properly? But it was a bit asshole-ish for Hernandez to not check up on them after the match.
  6. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 09:46 PM) Guess I don't know what he's Caple of. Randy Orton may end up wearing him because Steiner is the next heavyweight championship.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) <!--quoteo(post=1478702:date=Jul 27, 2007 -> 09:26 PM:name=Mr. Showtime)-->QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) <!--quotec-->Pfft. I'm going to assume you don't get his promos because you sir are old. How dare you defame White Thunder!
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=2951586 In a move that significantly widens the impact of wrestler Chris Benoit's murder-suicide case, two congressmen who opened steroid hearings into Major League Baseball have requested that World Wrestling Entertainment provide records pertaining to the WWE's testing policies and practices. In a three-page letter dated Friday, Rep. Henry Waxman, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Tom Davis, its ranking minority member, asked WWE to provide a series of documents intended to give the committee and its investigation a detailed look at WWE's drug-testing policy, including information about the results of performance-enhancing drug tests on pro wrestlers. And on the lighter side, the infamous Scott Steiner promo from 2000 where he work/shoots on Flair. Hehe...butt sucking.
  9. Rene Dupree has been released by the E. I shed a tear the the Native American who was sad about litter for the man who consistently was on WWE television doing his damndest to wrestle with a boner. /sad
  10. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 12:05 PM) http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...17/COLUMNISTS41 Deon Sanders pipes in. I think a great line from Billy Madison is a perfect response for this: "Mr. Sanders, what you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this world is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." Dear Mr. Sanders -- I thought status came from having self-esteem, doing ones' jobs and tasks well and doing things that were helpful to the community that one lives in. Status doesn't come from being involved in an illegal activity ring -- it just makes you a f***ing criminal douchenozzle, Deion. Thanks. Your pal, LCR
  11. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 12:00 PM) It's amazing to see how people handle stardom. Some people recognize that their "talents" are disposable and perishable, so they work hard to keep and develop them. And then there are losers like Lohan and Vick who just piss it away. Surreal Life 32 will star Vick and Lohan. Put it on your calendar. Exactly. But I feel pity for her too. Her mother was/is a complete putz and the father wasn't around due to jail etc. So neither were appropriate examples for her of appropriate behaviors. She grew up with no real examples of personal responsbility, positive ways to cope or deal with stress and how to try to stay centered during stressful times. As much as what LiLo does is completely asinine, I can't completely blame her for everything because her home environment from when she was young was so impressively f***ed-up. It's sad and disappointing but it doesn't completely excuse what she's done either.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 09:23 AM) Yikes... She looks like the start of one of those "10 years of drug use" photo logs that the police have to convince people of the damaging effects of drugs. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:26 AM) It was about time you left 2001. I use Ralph Lauren Purple label or Kenneth Cole black. RL is expensive but really good. Kenneth Cole Black reeks. Dear God. (I just tested it today when I was out getting cologne). I picked up some Acqua di Gio.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 09:27 AM) I assume it was what the attny read since Vick didn't speak at all yesterday. He did preface the statement with "I have a statement from Mr. Vick.... " But I agree they both give the impression of needing help changing a light bulb. Well, it is obvious that Vick needs help changing a light bulb. He just stands there holding the bulb up to the socket but does not put it in. Instead, he just waits for the rest of the world to revolve around him.
  15. Just finished "Sit Down and Shut Up" by Brad Warner. He's a punk bassist from the 80's that became a Zen priest. Excellent discussion of Buddhism. Also read "Hope Dies Last" by Studs Turkel. Amazing book with peoples' testimonies. Studs rules.
  16. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 12:07 PM) Joe v Angle for every belt imaginable at TNA Hard Justice. Can't wait, despite the silly stips. Negotiations are ongoing with Fox, and they expect that wherever they land, it'll be with two hours. Spike would move Ultimate Fighter to another night. Hooray. Two hours of constant run-ins, angles that make no sense and booking that devalues every title! And booking that leaves multiple talents demanding to be released! Because one hour just isn't enough!
  17. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) Mark. Everyone look at the "popular" NHL thread below. I thought the signing of Patrick Kane would light that thread up. What is this hockey you speak of? And Glenn Beck is a troll who thinks he has anybody paying attention to his dumb ass. He was more entertaining playing clips of Farfour and the new Bee that's taken over for Farfour on Al Aqsa TV. He's more ignorant than Nancy Grace...which takes a lot of effort to be that f***ing stupid.
  18. NES Punch Out. I remember never getting past Soda Popinski on the console and getting so pissed off. On an emulator, I beat the damn game.
  19. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 11:08 PM) I have a lady friend that goes to UIUC and she lays out on the quad to get her tan...Just a suggestion is all. I try that. I usually go from prism white to redder than the faces of people inside a Randy Orton headlock. So, I'm hoping to find a happier medium from a professional place. And to save two points with one post...yes, I am a guy. However, being the hue of Casper the Ghost is no long acceptable. Plus, it'll help to show off the gains I've been making busting my ass in the gym to gain mass and definition.
  20. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) DSW is gone. They now have a development place in Florida, I believe. Oh yes, yes they did. My bad.
  21. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) Maybe someone can explain this to me since I really havent seen an answer and dont really watch or care for TNA, is it a federation that allows all of its wrestlers to come and go as they please within other federations and promotions? Or do they have a select few that are their own and arent allowed to wrestle elsewhere? WWE doesnt allow their wrestlers to go anywhere other than Deep South and Ohio Valley, which are WWE-owned and operated right? TNA handles their indy bookings for them so they can get a supplement to their pay. Workers there are not allowed to do their own bookings. WWE is exclusive to DSW, OVW and the E with a few exceptions (i.e. some one shots for Booker T's promotion, Carlito's relatives promotion one shots, etc.)
  22. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) But how do you make the things move and sh*t? They have an option on the 2nd site when you pick a bunch of them, you can put them into a rotation.
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) TNA is such a clusterf*ck. I can't keep up with everything. Samoa Joe is X Div and Tag Team Champ (cue Critic's fat jokes) Angle is World Champ and IWGP Champ but there is controversy over the IWGP Title with Angle. But if you want a clusterf***, try to keep up with this story about the IWGP belt. Originally Brock Lesnar had the IWGP Title and then he held up IWGP. As a result, Lesnar was stripped of the title but refused to return the belt. Antonio Inoki recognizes Lesnar's reign as legit and starts the Inoki Genome Federation with Lesnar as its champ, using the IWGP Title belt. This belt of Lesnar's was known as the IGF Third Belt Championship (not the IWGP Title). This is despite it clearly saying IWGP on the belt. It does not have the history/prestige/world title status since it is not a new title) Lesnar lost this belt to Kurt Angle in an IGF event. Angle is now the Third Belt Championship holder. IWGP has their own world championship now and Yuji Nagata is the current world champ. Clear as mud, eh? And according to Wiki, the Third Belt Championship will be on the line as part of the Samoa Joe/Angle all the titles match.
  24. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 08:19 PM) Brian How do you make the thing in your sig? I've seen it on talkbulls too... There's a web site that has different user bars you can choose from and put them into an animation. I used to have it for my old sig. Here's an example of a site: http://www.forumsextreme.com/Userbars_Attributes.html And another: http://userbars.org/ And oh yeah --- does anybody know in the TNA main event with all the gold on the line if Joe wins, does he get the IWGP/IGF Title from Angle too?
  25. Hey gang -- As you may or may not know, I've been busting my ass in the gym doing some lifting with a trainer since the end of April/start of May to gain about 15-25 lbs. (and I've got about 7-8 of that goal down so far -- so many protein shakes and poultry meals that chickens now cower in fear when I enter a room) However, I am now looking to get a little more color. Being much more toned and getting stronger isn't too fun when your skin is so white that taking of your shirt means other people have to wear sunglasses or risk going blind. If any local CU'ers or UIUC'ers happen to know a decent place to go for the occasional tan, I would be very much thankful for your assist.
