wsc, do a little research into the wonderful civilizations around the world that were not tainted by European feudalism etc. Take the Andean region for instance. They had ayllus, or common lands that they all shared and there was no mutually exclusive territory. That's communism and it worked wonderfully well and they flourished for generations until the Spaniards came with their diseases, ethnocentrism and guns and FORCED them to change. Authentic Marxist revolution towards communism is quite possibly the greatest government ever. The events that happened in Hungary, Russia, and Poland would have had Marx rolling in his grave. (Realized from my own readings of Marx and Engels and also being able to talk with a 40 year emeritus professor in socialist theory)

Ah yes, the pontification of the backwoods dips***, WSC425. I'm actually in college and if I want to after I graduate can get a job in a law firm. That can be a VERY well paying job. With my teaching degree that I am working towards, I can also go to affluent districts and get paid lots of money. But something that you may not understand, doing a job is not always about the f***ing money. It's about the job satisfaction of doing a job that you like.

I just hate the ones that compromise their views for cash. Like the members of the DK did. Jello declined to let Levis use "Holiday in Cambodia" in an ad. So the band sued him and said that they weren't on MTv, VH 1, etc. enough. (Granted, they did actively perform a song entitled "MTv Get Off the Air", but I digress) And they weren't in Rolling Stone, etc. And their lawyer said that if they would have been corporatized, more CD's would have sold. So basically Jello had to pay damages on CD's that didn't exist. There are plenty of bands that have bastardized their music so they can sell more records. Look at Blink 182. They completely alienated their fan base by doing whatever the label told them to do and they became complete pricks. f***, Weezer almost got kicked off their label because they went into the studio before Maladroit came out (paid for it themselves out of pocket) and did previews of Maladroit. Then they put those up for download on their web page because they like their fans. Their label got angry and nearly booted them for that. And I really don't like MTv forcing music down my throat either. If you've heard "Pull My Strings" by the Dead Kennedys, it really shows my feelings towards the corporate music industry. I'll take my independent record shops and independent bands, thank you very much. Cuz quite simply, they are in it for the music and obviously not for the money since they don't get paid all that much.

"Konerko" and "infield single" aren't usually things heard in the same sentence. A win is a win is a win. We'll take them any way that we can get them. It is good to see the offense really start to come alive for once this year especially after that opening day corpseball fiasco. We have a pretty monster lineup. It's only 5 games into the season too, so our offense is just getting started. As the games progress, the Sox will be kicking ass and taking names.

I read it before on my own and then we had to read it for a world history class in high school and yet again in another Western Civilization class here in college. It's a very interesting read, but if you want military/ruling theory, one of the better books is "The Art of War" by Sun-tzu.
