Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
probably not lol

White Sox sign Martin Maldonado 1 year/4 million, vesting option for 2025
This is what the Sox have always done. Spend 15 million spread out over 5 guys instead of one guy at 15 million.

Drew Pomeranz would be a good signing.

I'd love Chapman. but we won't be spending more than a few million, so i'll go with a guy we will cut by July.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Yeah, sure. You've laid out the risk of holding him. The potential benefit of holding him is also exorbitant. Assuming best case return to 2022 form, like you assumed the worst case. With no injury, and no return to 2022 form, Cease would still command Petty + Arroyo type return in July.

Cease To Padres per Passan
It is completely dependent on the offer on the table so far. If the offer is Cowser and Ortiz +, you take it... If the offer is Petty and Arroyo, you take the risk and wait until the deadline because that offer isn't a slam dunk.

Yes, an arroyo and petty ++ is an easy no for me. I’ll take the risk and hold until the deadline. You can beat that

Cease To Padres per Passan
hmmm sounds like a dodgers package, Orioles package or Reds package going strictly off age of their top prospects that we'd be acquiring.

MLB announces rules changes for 2024 season
Put a stop to it now before teams start abusing it.

MLB announces rules changes for 2024 season
Why, I love it. it's dumb a team will throw a guy out there to warm up, to just pull him after.

I blame the MLB system, not the players.
