*finally gets out of Danks contract*

*trades for worse pitcher with equally bad contract*

*refuses to trade pitcher after miracle fluky run*

God bless you White Sox FO

Honestly, if they just think of a plan and do the exact opposite, could it possibly be any worse?

What's the difference between putting Albers in and just simply forfeiting?

How is nobody fired for this dumpster fire yet?

This is fun. I can't wait for when the Sox decide to go for it again next year!

I just came over from WSI, I was the only one over there posting in the game thread. The Sox fan base is shrinking, this embarrassing outing by Shields isn't going to help things.

At this point one game won't make a difference, but it couldn't hurt to embarrass the White Sox further.

I'm hoping Orioles score 20+ and shut us out

Maybe they will invoke the slaughter rule.

It stands to reason. One team is playing meaningful baseball in the middle of the summer. The other, for the 4th year in a row and 9th in the past eleven, is not.

3 HR's for Machado?

Hell, why not serve up 5 or 6?

5.79 ERA as a reliever and still on the roster getting meaningful appearances. That's something the old Rockies used to do

This is not meaningful. Any game where you enter down by 8 runs is not meaningful.

There's a lot of similarities between the White Sox and the Rockies, aren't there?

In recent weeks he had though

Typical Sox. Last night looked like a real team. Today look like worst team in humanity. Let the buyer beware when you buy tickets to a Sox game.

Another weekend home game clunker

Now we have Sox Math, who's idea was this, it's time for it to go away.

7 RBI's already for Machado, a guy who has far more hitting discipline than anyone on this Sox team. Our hitting coach needs to be fired so badly that it isn't even funny.

Shame on Hahn for not getting out of Shields' contract if there were takers

Great post. Shoulda dumped him.

I'm sure the scouts told him Coop had fixed him and he was great now.

QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 06:44 PM)
The entire scouting department needs to fired. It's painfully obvious that Shields has absolutely nothing left. I'm sure the Padres front office was stunned when the Sox called asking about him explaining why they traded him so early. They would have taken literally anything to get out of any portion of Shield's horrific contract.

Just fire everybody actually, anybody who even knew that trade could possibly happen and didn't speak up against it.

Amen.

Not a bad crowd out there today. Too bad today's performance is unlikely to entice many back anytime soon.

Sox scouting department may be the worst in MLB, they continually suck year after year. When they said Avi was a 5 tool player that was enough for me.

Jason, stop, please. Just stop.

The moron Morneau swung on 3 pitches that were outside the strike zone. Had he left them alone, he would have gotten on base.

What is this Jason guy saying?

Sox play like s*** on weekend home games for the last 5 years especially when crowd is bigger, a lot of those fans are not coming back and I do not blame them.
