LWE and MC in 8A final (should MC beat LA) will be a game to watch even if you do not like high school but appreciate football.  Not sure I recall two more dominate teams.

For those keeping score at home Lip Man is a BR alum as well.

  • To be fair their starting QB was out with injury, illness or something. I conveniently left that out, lol. Carmel looked like they had good pieces, it was one of those games that just went Rice's way

Brother Rice @ Notre Dame College Prep (Niles)

Looks like they will stream the Sophomore and Varsity games back to back starting at 5:00 PM.  Here’s the YouTube channel for the live streams…

Brother Rice just owned St. Lawrence.  St. Ignatius is their last opponent before the playoffs.

Fenwick hung with Mount Carmel and had a chance of beating them.  Unfortunately, they lost right at the end.

Holy bleep we are good this year. Folks this is the best team in BR history. I don't care what happens the rest of the way. Q has the best team in Rice history. Can we complete the deal? Teams that could knock us off in playoffs, the only ones: Mount Carmel, Fenwick, East St. Louis, Loyola. That's it. I have no idea which teams are in our classification. St. Laurence has a good coach, not sure of their record, but we mauled them tonight. If Rice does win it all this team will go down as legend on the south side even tho we lost to MC.

For the playoffs it is two Lincoln Ways (west and central), Rita, Carmel of Mundelein (amazing QB), Downers North (great QB), Glenbard West and can't sleep on Batavia.  There may be others but that's off the top of my head.

In 8A LWE lost this past Friday which is crazy because their QB (one of best ever in IL) was out but they still should have won sets up a semifinal of Mount Carmel and LWE.

I guess we could lose. Rita would be a bad loss after clobbering them earlier. You mention some name schools but Rice is special this year. I will risk hyperbole and say if we don't win it all this year we never will. It's that good a Rice team.

St. Ignatius @ Brother Rice on Marquee Network right now.

Mount Carmel @ Loyola on WCIU (26.1 OTA in Chicago area) right now.

BR going for an 8-1 record at all three levels (frosh, soph, and varsity) today.  So far, their only loss at all three levels — Mount Carmel.  😡

Coach Q has turned around the program for now and the future.

Indeed.

How did we only beat St. Iggy by eight? Is St. Iggy good?

Wat you think of the playoff opener and why were we just a six seed? That's absurd. Congrats on your son getting the pic.

Thanks.  No idea how St. Ignatius played so well.  They finished 2-7 on the season.  That was BR’s closest game outside of the Mount Carmel loss.

(6) Chicago Brother Rice vs. (27) Rockford Jefferson

BR should crush these guys.  It was Jefferson’s first winning season and playoff berth since 1993.  That’s 32 years.  They went 5-4 this season.

Hopefully we win big and get back on track. The St. Iggy score scares me. Rice hadn't had a 'letdown' type game all season. Even the one loss was close where we messed up some chances. Congrats to the kids. Best team in Rice history (through regular season). Never has Rice had so many college recruits and game breakers. Hope the QB is healthy, the lines are healthy and the RBs and receivers and D backs are ready.

Some of those downstate teams scare me. Hopefully Rice has a big crowd and the players roll over Rockford and get some momentum for a long run. Hope the kids want it. That can be key after a long season. I haven't been able to watch as many games this year but I sure was impressed and convinced after watching those early games. Coach Q must be a genius. I wonder if he's happy on the south side and will stick around. As a six seed the kids should have a chip on their shoulder. Only one loss and nobody can beat the team the Crusaders lost to.

It will be since it’s a home game.  Wondering if Marquee or WCIU will pick up the game though.

BR blowing out Jefferson at halftime.  It’s raining on the south side.  Put in the entire bench for the second half.

57-0 BR final.

Nice win. I can't believe even high schools are hard to find on stream nowadays. You'd think they'd let BR TV just do the games. They'd get max of 200 people watching. But no ... it's on some weird stream u gotta pay for. How bout sell some ads and make it free for high school for gosh sakes.

BR TV has actually televised every game of the season, outside of Marquee Network picking up two of their games.  They have even broadcast freshman and sophomore games.

Mount Carmel’s YouTube channel and presentation is pretty amazing with replays, etc. and they will be streaming the Loyola @ Mount Carmel game tomorrow at 4:30 PM.

Batavia beat Hoffman Estates 56-0, must have been something in the water.  Hersey also won 56-0

Any way we need to worry about Jacobs? Long bus ride might annoy our guys.
