October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) worst part about it is that now the Cubs rotation is set again They'll face Rich Hill if the Dodgers win. Roark if the Nationals win.
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 05:09 AM) worst part about it is that now the Cubs rotation is set again Yep and if it's against the Dodgers, they can't hit lefties. Probably Maeda vs Lester in game 1
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:10 PM) They'll face Rich Hill if the Dodgers win. Roark if the Nationals win. Yikes. Strasburg isn't coming back at all?
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 05:10 AM) They'll face Rich Hill if the Dodgers win. Roark if the Nationals win. Hill going Thurs
October 12, 20169 yr Daniel Murphy is a cubs killer, he's the only hope to see the scrubs knocked out.
October 12, 20169 yr I know Moore has 120 pitches, but with the way he pitched, I figured you go out and let him start the 9th if your plan was to go closer by committee.
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) Hill going Thurs I thought they'd use Urias. In that case...Maeda.
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:13 PM) I know Moore has 120 pitches, but with the way he pitched, I figured you go out and let him start the 9th if your plan was to go closer by committee. Exactly. He would have like a week off if they won this game and the series.
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) Yikes. Strasburg isn't coming back at all? He said he'd be ready. But didn't feel good in a bullpen session today so who knows. I was hoping the Dodgers would just abuse the hell out of Kershaw and throw him 3 times vs the Cubs, but with game 1 Saturday that's not going to happen, and past that he seemingly sucks on short rest.
October 12, 20169 yr Heck of a Series. Giants gave them a run for their money and certainly weren't blown out by any means. Cubs will need to hit much better than they did this series to win the World Series.
October 12, 20169 yr it's funny that matt moore gave the giants the blue print against the f***ing cubs and they were still throwing fastballs like they were going to be effective.
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 05:20 AM) it's funny that matt moore gave the giants the blue print against the f***ing cubs and they were still throwing fastballs like they were going to be effective. 0-2 fastball to Baez when you have a good slider was simply inexcusable
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:20 PM) it's funny that matt moore gave the giants the blue print against the f***ing cubs and they were still throwing fastballs like they were going to be effective. It is remarkable but they couldn't get any of their offspeed pitches over for strikes. I feel like prime Mark Buehrle would destroy this Cubs lineup.
October 12, 20169 yr So much for he Cubs not being able to hit. Oh yeah, and Baez sucks. Edited October 12, 20169 yr by Deadpool
October 12, 20169 yr No way this version of the Cubs was going to choke it away. It's too good a team. Our Sox as of now are officially irrelevant until we get good again. I wonder how many Sox fans are gonna flip to the Cubs now. It won't happen with us loyal lifers but some people in this day and age might jump on the winner's bandwagon. GO SOX GO!
October 12, 20169 yr Destiny's children friends and neighbors. Oh by the way, this is at least the sixth time, the sixth time since September 1 the Giants took a lead into the 9th inning and lost the game. Their bullpen is worse than the Sox. If Washington wins Thursday I'd feel better about their chances if Strasburg and Ramos were healthy. Giants could have won game #1 if not for Posey's base running blunder and they should have won game #4 but to me the biggest mistake was running Shark out there to start game #2 at Wrigley. There was no way that stiff was going to do well under those circumstances. Mark
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:54 PM) No way this version of the Cubs was going to choke it away. It's too good a team. Our Sox as of now are officially irrelevant until we get good again. I wonder how many Sox fans are gonna flip to the Cubs now. It won't happen with us loyal lifers but some people in this day and age might jump on the winner's bandwagon. GO SOX GO! I'll be honest, if we're bad, it doesn't matter how good the Cubs are. Our fanbase is typical of a mid market fanbase. We pay to go to games to watch winners. And I can't really blame people who want to watch good baseball.
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 12:02 AM) I guess go Nationals? I think your best shot is cheering for the best AL team, honestly. Edited October 12, 20169 yr by Deadpool
October 12, 20169 yr Overall a very good baseball series. Giants bullpen was eventually going to crap the bed but credit to the Cubs for making that happen. Still in shock, totally thought this was going 5.
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 12:05 AM) In before someone calls dpd a Cubs fan. just don't do it man, why do feel the need to stir the drink
October 12, 20169 yr QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 12:07 AM) just don't do it man, why do feel the need to stir the drink Because he is a Cubs fan, it's quite that simple. He can be a Sox fan as well, but Austin is a Cubs fan for sure.
