This flurry of insanity and scandals is how he won the election, really. It was all so over the top and ridiculous and obviously disqualifying, but nobody focused in on any specific story and really made it stick because every day was something else zany. Meanwhile, Clinton faced the slow drip drip drip of EMAILS for the entire campaign (first the server, then the DNC hacks, then her server again at the last minute) and that was by far the biggest thing that came into people's minds with her.

 

But, as much as Trump's crazy mind might seem to think otherwise, this isn't the campaign anymore. This is running the country, and he doesn't have the same opportunities to run away from the negative coverage.

What's unsettling is how "us vs. them" it gets in tone the further down you go. Is this bad for the Party? Does the media attack our movement? Still holding out hope that they're just far too incompetent to be the authoritarians they so clearly want to be.
