Yeah, it just seemed like he started off his career that way because of being the Golden Spikes winner, had that Ted Williams-esque hitting streak at Oklahoma State, whereas May will go down as a lesser version of Jerry Owens who wouldn't have been in the big leagues if not for the rebuild/tear down.

 

Much more fun being a White Sox fan back then (with all the talent in the pipeline)...plus, there was the new stadium to look forward to (at that point).
