So you give me some source called walterfootball who mentions that he thinks Trubisky has more of a second round skill set and in the same post you try to tell me you think Peterman has the possibility as the best QB in the draft by which that same walterfootball said could potentially be a developmental backup.

I know we arent going to agree, its just that I am going based on my personal opinion after watching these players play. I think Trubisky is a complete wildcard, he could easily be worth #2 or he could completely flame out. As a Bears fan, I dont think the pick makes a ton of sense. They just signed Glennon, who probably isnt a HOF or Pro Bowler, and then they go out and pick a QB #2. It just doesnt seem to make sense.

 

What made (imo) more sense, was you sign Glennon, you see what he can do as a starter. You pick BPA or trade down to get more picks. You take a QB in the middle rounds, because the risk is lower and there is plenty of history of guys after the 1st turning into serviceable QBs. After 2017 you then see where you are, if Glennon sucks, you probably have a top 10 pick in a draft with some interesting QBs (Darnold, Allen, Ross).

 

At the end of the day, its just opinion. Its fun to look back at these discussions years later and see what happened.

No one is saying that QBs dont get overdrafted. When Tebow was drafted it was crazy, but that was also a really thin QB class. Top pick was Bradford coming off of an injury where he only played 3 games.

Then next year if they are terrible they can trade back and get 2 first round picks and everyone will be so happy.

 

If they pick Adams, he may be great, but he'd immediately be one of the highest paid safeties in the league. So when we are talking about value, that's also an issue. It's like taking a 1b in the top tfive of the baseball draft.

I could see them going TE (or even Robinson as an LT). But yes...I think they will trade down (unless they really have a high grade on a guy there at the time).

Cam Robinson/Sidney Jones would look good. Budda Baker is also interesting but undersized.

 

If the Bears could move mid 2nd and grab some other picks that may be ideal, but otherwise no issues if they get a good lineman or db.

Robinson gone, think now the Bears can trade down and really not be too upset.

Yup, excellent return when you're only dropping nine spots with plenty of talent still available.

Lamp/Wilson/Jones still around. Could even see Bears go Tim Williams.

 

And just like that...we get some picks back.

I wouldn't be shocked if we danced again. Going back to...lots of depth in this draft and we can start to accumulate as many picks as possible within late 2nd and 4th.

So in a sense, trading up for QB Mitch Trubisky essentially cost the #Bears a third-round pick (and some pick position).

Dang...I wanted the Utah safety to fall. He's going to be good, imo.
