A lot of good pitching today. I apologize in advance if Cooper isn't actually starting (the Barons haven't announced starters), but it appears to be his turn in the rotation.

 

Also, we got a couple of morning games with Kannapolis starting at 10:00am & game 1 for Birmingham starting at 11:00am.

Rodon, Kopech, Lopez, & Dunning sounds like a pretty good future rotation to me. What an exciting day of pitching probables.

W-S has a good chance to win two. They've been playing better ball since getting Trey/Barnum back, along with Thompson pitching better.

Well I don't see an instagram story from Robert so I'm assuming he's not playing. I would expect 3-4 shirtless selfies prior to his first game.

Birmingham hasn't announced starters for either game, but Kopech hasn't pitched since 5/31 and I'm nearly positive he should be going today. Cooper I'm less certain of now that Stephens is back. I'd assume Lowry would be the off man out, but the Sox haven't always committed to Cooper starting.

Bernardo Flores is firmly on my radar. Walks nobody, strikes out enough, gets grounders. One of many who should be in Winston-Salem soon.

Right but he struggled in the first 2 innings as well. He's allowed to have a non perfect start, like I said, just not the prettiest game he's ever pitched.

I think that was the 3rd time he'd faced the Smokies?

 

Adolfo with go ahead RBI double in 16th for Kanny, some pretty brutal offensive numbers in that one.

Snodgress got the start in game 2 of Birmingham's double-header, so Cooper is probably going tomorrow then for what I believe is another double header.

Ha, yeah, I've wondered with Carlos. Feels like he's being held back and doesn't necessarily agree with hit. Not surprised he may go all out right away.

2B Danny Mendick hitting .296/.385/.493 at W-S, good for a 142 wRC+. Was name-checked on Fangraphs' fringe prospects a few weeks back. Old for the level, good for a promotion I would say.
