June 12, 20178 yr Went on the DL last pitching in late April with "Right elbow neuritis". From a little research it seems that rest is the first course of treatment followed by surgery if the condition does not resolve itself. Anyone have any more insights into how he's doing and what's up?
June 12, 20178 yr Last week they put his rehab on hold and he was receiving treatment. They said there was no setback, just being patient, but considering he had been throwing bullpens for a week or so prior, and they stopped his throwing, there probably was a setback. White Sox pitcher health and rehab has been quite a mystery this year.
June 12, 20178 yr It might be what happens with a lot of pitchers who experience some elbow or shoulder pain, but are not diagnosed with a condition that requires surgery or where surgery is not the only choice. Jones might be trying to rehab it because if it needs surgery at this point, he may be gone for the season anyway. It's possible that the Sox just don't know right now.

Anyone have any more insights into how he's doing and what's up? This was going to be an odd one regardless of the White Sox odd treatment of injuries this year. Ulnar neuritis typically comes from the nerve stretching over the joint because the joint is loose. The joint shouldn't be loose due to the previous TJS. Also with the TJS, they typically due an unlar nerve transposition, where they take the nerve and move it from below the elbow to above the elbow. This will stop any chance of an irritation occurring due to scar tissue or stress in the area. Since the anatomy has been altered by surgery, it is difficult to know what is going on.

June 12, 20178 yr QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 03:33 PM) I didn't realize Jones is also 31. That surprised me. He was a late bloomer.

Not throwing for now https://mobile.twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/...371948683440128 If Nate was too stubborn to change his delivery, well he has noone to blame but himself. His style of pitching has to be murder on the elbow. I can see that and I'm no ptatc.
