Willy Garcia with bases loaded swings at three straight pitches out of the zone and not even close. He gets picked up by Melky who drives in two

Baltimore shot themselves in the foot on that misplay of the bunt. It won't show up in the box score, but that was basically an error.

I just had the same thought. I hope Shields replaces Holmberg in the rotation with Holmberg returning to the pen as a long reliever. He has done an excellent job but they are asking a great amount of innings from the bullpen.

We really don't have a starter who consistently goes deep into games with Quintana struggling and Rodon yet to make his debut.

On a different point, I am interested to see what they do with the likes of Gonzalez, Holland and Shields at the deadline. I think the Sox would be smart to find a team who would take a salary dump for Shields. Hopefully, He performs well enough to be dealt. Holland could probably net a lottery ticket or 2. I think Arizona could be a good match for him.

I would love to see Jordan Guerrero, Tyler Danish, Reynaldo Lopez and Matt Cooper all get shots at starting at some point this year even if it is only a few start for some of them.

Why would you not just continue to stretch Holmberg out?

Salary is a sunk cost. No reason for a "dump". If he us traded you get a good prospect or two

On 4 pitches too. And yet Abreu still swings at two pitches way out of the zone the next AB after that just happened, pretty funny.

Leury almost came back with a bang right there

He was taken out mid-count,don't see that often.

Thing with Davidson is, and I've said this before, when he's hot, he can carry the team and be the most exciting player in the lineup. When he's cold, he can the most frustrating. This season is definitely a test for him, and I think if he has one or two more hot streaks during the season after he cools down a bit this time, I think he has solidified himself as next year's 3B/DH.

Davidson fooled badly right there. It was a spinner right down the middle.

Tommy fricken Kahnle everybody

Really thought my Jeff Liefer comparison would cause a stir.

Back to the lab.

Nice ab by Anderson there. 2nd time he's gotten himself to a 3 ball count. This one resulting in a double.

Anderson has taken a lot of pitches, out of the zone, in his last couple of at bats. That would obviously pay off for him, if he could learn to do it consistently.

Robertson to work the 9th, his first outing since Saturday.

He's trying to get himself a save haha...does it work like that? If the closer comes in on a non-save situation, pitches himself into a save situation and still closed out the game, does he get the save?

Nope.

Nope.

That's good I guess. I think if the closer blows the lead in the 9th and the team wins it in the tenth, the closer shouldn't get the win, the pitcher before him should. Just my 2 cents on that.

Robertson is terrible in non save situations.

Washington would pine over this type of terrible.

You can tell how little he has worked lately. He had nothing on his off-speed stuff. That was his 4th game in the 15 days of June. He has been in two games between June 7 and June 15. No command at all.

It's so weird those days, seems like sometimes he has no feel on his off-speed stuff but has worse command on his fastball. Definitely a guy we need to keep with steady reps.

Who would have ever thought the Sox could win 3 of 4 from Baltimore in June? And only be seven under .500. I'll never be convinced we needed a rebuild in this age of parity. The Sox are trotting out there some of the worst starting pitchers imaginable and are only 7 under .500. They could easily have upgraded 2-3 positions in the offseason via free agency. We could have still had Sale and Eaton with this team that is featuring a rejuvenated Avi, a rejuvenated bullpen (for the most part; yes it's reeked at times) and a live bat in Davidson. Abreu is still good and Melky is having his best year as a White Sox. Catching also is acceptable with this current guy hitting about .250 and having a decent arm.

You all can say what you want, but there's no reason to completely rebuild when you have as many veterans as the Sox. This division blows and it wouldn't have taken much of an effort to win it.

That's my take. I'm sure El Rockin agrees at least. Or El Rockin likes the rebuild and likes this team as well, lol. I say it lovingly El Rockin. You like whatever the Sox do at all times. Go El Rockin!
