I think him losing his best friend to gun violence has messed him up quite a bit.

People keep saying this, but he was bad earlier in the year before that happened. His hitting is actually way better since.

A rookie with first at bat singles and drives in two. Yanks 3-0

Miguel Andujar, someone I'd hoped the White Sox could get as part of a package for Q. With Torres injured and him being called up to the ML roster, that's probably out.

Avi is pulling off the ball again. He looks exactly the same as last year.

Looks awful, but he keeps coming around this year. Could definitely use a day off.

Avi has left a small army on the bases this series...

We're watching a rehab start against the Yankees Major League lineup.

I agree and we may see this a couple more starts

It's difficult for me to believe what we saw last season was a fluke. I think in the long run he'll be fine, but he's definitely going through growing pains right now.

I didn't think he passed the eye test last year

If he's throwing a legit 95 and no arm pain that is the best thing that can happen tonight.

Yolmer shows TA how you do it.

Yolmer is soooo smooth love it

Yolmer fricken Sanchez everybody

A base hit here by Engel would be nice.

Almost an hour and not even into the 3rd inning yet

was excited at seeing Rodon at 95mph on Gameday then I saw Tanaka at 96mph and realized it was all just a big lie.

Gonna cut it close to get 9 innings in at this speed

Great throw by Melky. Andujar looks good

That was a great play in CF by Engel. He was playing shallow and the perfect read and jump on it. He covered half of the OF to get to that ball. (slight exaggeration)

That was a nice play by Engel but that Jason call on the outro was cringe.

edit: that said, I'd love to see what Statcast thought the probability of him making that catch was. It had to have been less than 10%.

Statcast said he covered 79 feet, and his first step was in a third of a second.

Crisp, no earned runs outing. :)

Well, Rodon did only give up 3 runs, and they were from walks. But after what he gave up in the minors and coming up to the majors and not giving up much to the Yankees, I'll take that.

All things considered a good night for Rodon.

He's not pitching righty, so that's a plus

Very good. Assuming his arm is OK tomorrow.

Let's get Rodon four runs, get him out of there, have the bullpen hold the lead, and give the guy a win in his first start back.
