October 4, 20178 yr I guess they could bring a couple of those guys back, but the question would be, why? Maybe Brantly if he wants to spend next summer in Charlotte.

October 4, 20178 yr A little surprised about Liriano and Goldberg. The rest are not surprises. Does Goldberg need to pass through waivers to stay in the organization? I saw the post that says he remains in the organization as a non-roster player. How does that work - what is the difference between him, and say, Liriano. First time he's been outrighted perhaps?

That bring 40 man down to 27 before adding the likes of Eloy, Gillaspie, Peter, Clark, Guerrero, Polo, Basabe, and Walsh. Plenty of space to play with.

I'm pretty sure we do because the Cubs signed him in 2013 and rule 5 goes by how many you were signed for, so this is his 5th rule 5 draft making him eligible. Basically for this rule 5 its college guys from the 2014 draft and high school / international guys from 2013.
