January 19, 20188 yr Have the Non-roster invitees been announced yet for the White Sox? Several teams have announced so far. If they have not, I'd imagine it would be soon.
January 19, 20188 yr Next week I’d expect. They probably didn’t want to announce during the hitters camp.
January 20, 20188 yr Should know very soon, as the players are being informed. Dane Dunning tweeted he is in.

January 22, 20188 yr Was hoping to see Stephens or Guerrero grab the 5th spot until Rodon is healthy, but with the Gonzalez signing, I don't think we'll see that. Unless they want to send Fulmer back to AAA.

Unless they want to send Fulmer back to AAA. Yeah it's possible. He should have to compete for the spot. Whoever pitches better in spring, bring them North.
January 22, 20188 yr QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 10:40 AM) Was hoping to see Stephens or Guerrero grab the 5th spot until Rodon is healthy, but with the Gonzalez signing, I don't think we'll see that. Unless they want to send Fulmer back to AAA. Neither have been in AAA, and neither have exactly filthy stuff. Better for their development to not rush them like that. They should both start 2018 in the Charlotte rotation and make their way through some teams' lineups two or more games before they come up.

January 22, 20188 yr QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 11:54 AM) Are Burr and Viera invited? Vieira is on the roster so yes. Burr isn't on the 40 and not listed on this list so probably not. Edited January 22, 20188 yr by soxfan2014

January 22, 20188 yr Two guys invited last year, but not this year- Courtney Hawkins and Spencer Adams. Adams not invited is interesting.
January 22, 20188 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 12:38 PM) Two guys invited last year, but not this year- Courtney Hawkins and Spencer Adams. Adams not invited is interesting. I've honestly forgotten about this guy.
January 22, 20188 yr Also Danny Hayes was invited last year but not this year. Perhaps he’s following the other Dan Hayes.
January 22, 20188 yr Chris KucVerified account @ChrisKuc 5h5 hours ago White Sox agree to terms on minor-league contracts with right-handed pitchers Rob Scahill, Chris Volstad and Michael Ynoa, left-hander T.J. House and infielders Patrick Leonard and Matt Skole.
January 22, 20188 yr Adams had mixed results at Birmingham if you ask me. The velocity returned and the K/9 increased, but he gave up a ton of hits again and got lit up with HR's compared to his career norms. I know he's still young, but I really don't see much there other than a back end of the rotation if he's lucky. Much rather give the invites to guys much closer at making an impact and higher on the prospect depth chart.

Much rather give the invites to guys much closer at making an impact and higher on the prospect depth chart. You may be right about Adams but there is one thing to keep in mind. Spencer Adams is still 1 and a half years younger than "phenom" Alec Hansen and has always been young for his league. I think it's too early to tell what will happen. The depth of the WS organization is probably why SA wasn't invited to camp. To me that is a very good thing.
January 23, 20188 yr QUOTE (BurlyMan56 @ Jan 23, 2018 -> 12:37 AM) Scahill= Swarzyk A - Swarzak B - He definitely does not C - Scahill will sit in the minors for the majority of the year and be depth for the White Sox. He'll probably be up 1-2 months all year and give you 15-20 innings total. D - I went to high school with him and played with him - he's not capable of being a guy who is flipped for any type of prospect 5 months from now. Youre talking about a guy who walked 4 per 9 and struck out 4 per 9.
