No, it's not a hard choice, considering the team is running Santiago and Shields out there 2/5 days. He will pitch the whole year. Stop watching if you can't handle it or want him to fail.

Nobody is rooting for failure.

Hope you brought a lot of beer

  • Just crunched my total game thread numbers. This is the 99th game thread I've ever started in the regular season. 111th overall. 55-43 (.561) in regular season, 10-2 (.833) in playoffs, 65-45 (.5

Jesus, game threads are seriously the worst sometimes

I honestly don't know if we should even care if they have to DFA Giolito and Fulmer at the beginning of next season because I think it is pretty clear that if they ever figure it out it isn't going to be here.

Future HOFer to future DFAer in about one month.

At this stage of his career, Giolito isn’t good enough to pitch over errors. This could turn out disastrous.

Velocity maybe worst of his career

I think he may be playing injured unfortunately.

I don't want him to fail. I want him to succeed. I'm more complaining about those who all want to send him down because they have to be really careful if they use his last option now. They are bad and don't have any better options anyway, so it doesn't hurt that much to  have him learn on the job so to speak. If he had 2 options fine send him down. But he doesn't. Earlier I didn't realize he only had 1 option left. This completely changes the equation.

Unearned runs certainly don't help

Of course, this team refuses to help itself in any way shape or form.

I just don't understand how Giolito is just going to work through "growing pains" when he misses the zone by feet regularly while working with a 90 mph fastball.

This is first start he's had where I wonder if he's hurt

These guys just don't care. Renteria gotta go. Omar time.

This current version is out of baseball in four years

If Cooper is still stressing less velocity for command and movement, they should try something else.

Well having inconsistent mechanics and loss of velocity can easily be explained by compensation due to injury.....

Agreed he's barely hitting 90 tonight

If he's injured he needs to tell someone. It would explain a lot. If he does make a trip to the DL idk what took him so long to tell somebody.

Watching Omar round first was painful

Because if someone can't find the zone, throwing harder is the best idea.

Engel is a burden at the plate. Wish Tilson would shake the rust off already.

Engel so bad at baseball

Nothing is working with what they are trying now

Missed his pitch to hit with that awful 1-0 changeup that hung up then the pitcher made a really good pitch to him to roll over.  Oh well.
