  • The thing that is so maddening about Giolito is it seems like every start is the first time he's ever been in his human body.

  • Jose Abreu
    Jose Abreu

I figured he wouldn't play given the early start if his back was still stiff last night

  • I live in the Detroit area. About a 10-15 minute drive, to be exact. lol The big drive would be going to the south side of Chicago to see this team.

Winning 3 of 4 against Baltimore would have been tough for draft positioning, anyway.

Can Giolito catch

Well said, how about two homers for Yoan and one for Timmy and call it a series

or CF?

Are you kidding me he can barely stand stationary on the mound without falling over.

Just maybe try something other than a fastball

Yeah, this has got to be it.

Just hope they don't rush Rodon just to cover for this crap

The only starting players on this team to not have missed any playing time is Yolmer, Anderson and Engel. Everyone else has missed game action in some respect whether it be due to illness, injury, or suspension. That is literally 2/3 of the opening day starting lineup, also Leury.

Not to mention all of the injury setbacks in the minors.

Might as well best rush hour traffic and drive him to O'Hare

Rodon starts either tonight or tomorrow in AAA, so I would imagine his next start is with the White Sox.

2 rehab starts seems quick after major surgery

He had extended spring training. They said 2 or 3 rehab starts.

You would think they would have gone to all curveballs to try to straighten out his mechanics. He was pulling everything down and to glove side or leaving it up and to the hand side. It's just a mechanical issues. It looks like it's just over throwing.

5-3 homestand isn't bad, but the Rangers and Orioles are both so bad.

I have never been so glad to see Beck in a game as I am now............................

Who the hell taught Omar how to catch low pitches?  Takes borderline strikes and make them look like they're in the dirt.

Beck has better stuff than Gio.  Think about that.

He's been on a long (time) throwing program though. He was at 65 pitches in the first start. He shouldn't need too many more.

Gio's side sessions must look a whole lot better than when he gets to the mound or they wouldn't bother throwing him to the wolves.

Especially when the Orioles were a threat to hit fans in the outfield bleachers with every fastball thrown.

Beck looks so much like Fulmer except he actually throws strikes

I'm worried that Giolito will have an Engel problem. Where even when he "fixes" it, it will just be a countdown until he undoes it with tinkering.

Well if not Rodon, who then?  Jordan Stephens? I know Kopech ain't coming anytime soon.
