One other thing, Sox better know Singer is going to have good Medicals after the issue he had out of high school

That's true -- but I think that nearly all of the failed hitters have been of the same type: high upside speed/power guys that needed to learn to made consistent contact. It's definitely a bit of an experiment, but I feel like they'll do better on a high-end contact guy.

I guess Gordon Beckham is the example of them ruining that.

Among the hitters, I think the Hit tool is the rarest, most difficult to develop, and the one the White Sox have shown the least ability to develop. Therefore it is most coveted, IMO.

The clear answer then becomes Madrigal.

This is the key. 90 pitches fine in the MLB, if the command is there. How is the 98 of Lopez currently doing?

In the last article NH talked quote a bit about Madrigal mentality.

Most people know how underwhelmed I am with Singer. Would feel a lot better if he was sitting mid 90's regularly, but I haven't seen much of that this season. The secondaries don't overwhelm me either.  I'm 100% on the Madrigal train. I would love nothing more than PHI to select Singer ahead of the Sox.

This is true but I can't help noticing a lot of the successful pitchers with avg 4 seamers below 91 are veterans that pitched a lot faster earlier in their career. It takes time to develop that know-how, and it seems far fewer guys came in at 90 and could make it work aide from Hendricks/Keuchel.

A lot more people can throw 90, so if it's not easy.

Madrigal please if available . Pure hitter, pure baseball player ,level  headed, understands the game.  Just not feeling much upside in Singer . Not enough space between the floor and ceiling.

Just getting it on the record that I am in favor of drafting Madrigal if available.

Pretty agnostic who gets picked at #4. If Madrigal and Bohm are both there, which looks more likely now that it did up until pretty recently I would be a little upset if they went with Singer, but it is what I am expecting to happen.

I am fully on the Kyler Murray hype train for the second round, but there are a bunch of guys there I would be fine with taking. If a "safe" pick is used at #4 I want a couple high ceiling guys in the first five rounds.
