Not to put a damper on things but he isn't going to help the Sox "stop walking people" malady.

Hopefully he will add a little more stability though.

The Sox will actually be fielding a decent pitcher more often than not starting soon!  You can put it on the board, yes!

Rodon

Shields

Lopez

Covey

Giolito

not bad.  Should make most of the games a helluva lot more watchable.

With Shields and Covey essentially re-inventing themselves, and with how the offense has been lately, yeah the Sox might actually win more games than not soon. Or atleast, they might make the games competitive haha.

Since starting out 9-27, the Sox have actually played the last 22 at 10-12.  It is getting better.

I mean, it had to at some point. This team isn't THAT bad.

Hopefully will look back at May 2018 as the rock bottom of the rebuild watchability wise.

Rodon will be moving Santiago to the pen so there's something to be happy about.

Good, it will help having a long guy as well.

Volstad the next to go or Bummer to get more work in Charlotte?

Yeah I think Santiago is better in the role of long man in the pen. Question is who gets sent down, Bummer it Beck?

Volstad has been fairly solid and still finding regular work.

Beck has also done fine...Bummer should be allowed to try closing for Charlotte for 4-6 weeks.

Assuming Santiago does go to the pen to join fellow lefties Avilan and Fry, Bummer would make the most sense going to Charlotte.

I like these moves.  Bummer is better than Beck, but they have enough lefties for now.  Cedeno needed to come up so he can be flipped, if possible.  He barely pitched in 2017, but was good in 2015 and 2016.

I love ya Trayce, but Palka needs to play every day even though the defense will take a big hit.

I thought Santiago's best work over his years with the Sox was as a short-inning reliever. I'm sure he'll be long relief, due to need.

Lol at Covey VS Sale.

As often as the Sox have needed to use the pen I'm going to guess Beck gets sent down. Having two long relievers in Santiago/Volstad makes alot of sense.

They should wear the jersey Sale cut up.

Why did someone select the "confusion" emoji thing for this post? <_<

what's the likelihood that Rodon reinjures himself? seems like hes been hurt more often than not

Yet, Covey has a lower ERA than Sale. Interesting. Still, kind of unfair the Sox have to face Berrios and Sale in back-to-back games.

Looks like Rodon will be slated to go on Saturday vs. Price. Friday is Covey and Sunday is Lopez vs Porcello, while Saturday is still TBD for our Sox. If our pitchers' recent track records stay consistent and the defense can hold its own, we may be looking at a pretty decent series vs the best team in the league.
