Let's hope Frank is half as good at scouting as he was with hitting.

Must be a DH thing

Birmingham now has 6 starting pitchers. Dunning/Cease/Hansen/Flores/Clarkin/Guerrero. I wonder which of Clarkin or Guerrero gets moved to the pen.

They also have 5 outfielders but they'll probably do a rotation similar to what WS was doing.

I think you'll see Fisher DHing alot.

Isn't Clarkin on the DL? Dude always seems to be hurt and/or ineffective.

What in the world happened to A.J. Puckett? Isn’t he supposed to be part of this as well?

IIRC, ACL surgery maybe?

Clarkin on DL. Guerrero out of rotation. The 5th to join your first 4 is Tomshaw.

Why in gods name is Matt Tomshaw even in the org?

Good question.

Are they really starting Tomshaw over Guerrero in AA.  I know Guerrero has been bad this seson, but Tomshaw is a journeyman nobody.  I suppose Puckett will take that spot whenever he ready.

When will they call up Jordan Stephens?

I'd assume he is the next man up. Whether it's a spot start or a full-time opportunity.

I assume this is about Guerrero and seeing how he works out of the pen.  Someone has to start (they have org guys scattered throughout the minors).
He lost his legit prospect status when  left unprotected in Rule 5.  The pen might offer a chance of resuscitation for Guerrero.

When a spot opens up at least.  Even then, there is a fair chance that Kopech is called up first, especially if he starts to turn it around again.

Two promotions here, guessing Dunning news coming??

Poor Kannapolis, now their rotation is really poor. Rigler and a bunch of crap. They really blew that first half championship in that final week, too bad, as they will not come close in the 2nd half.

Great to see Lambert going against tougher competition now.  As an older guy (for a recent draftee) you'd like to see him continue to excel and push for a spring training invite next year.  Been said many times but the depth in the system is really showing through.  Five years ago a guy like Lambert would probably enter next year top 10 in the org.

They should get some of the recent draftees after quick stints in rookie ball.
