Actually, that was a good contact play as it avoided the DP, and kept the chance for the big inning alive. Unfortunately, Delmoncico flew out to CF and Omar is on 2nd.

They did not avoid a double play as first base was unoccupied and Omar was on second base.

Hopefully the umps realize that Moncada has a better grasp of the strike zone than they do sooner rather than later.
