Verhagen keeping a close eye on Davidson at second which makes sense considering how fleet of foot Matt is

Isn't Cordell in Charlotte ? That would explain it.

  • We could do an All-Fish team I am sure. Eddie Fisher in the pen. But I have a haddock tonite.

giolito 7/10 starts have been quality starts.

Pretty Carp offense tonite.

Lucas going 8 and Burr pitching the 9th would be fun and good.

Lucas just made him look silly on that changeup

If the Sox win only 2.5 behind Detroit.  Hard to root for tanking now when 4/5 of the starting rotation is now Rodon, Kopech Giolito and Lopez. Hell gotta root for Covey to also do well.

Is that like a Trout or Catfish offense ?

On the last pitch of the 5th, Giolito gets a strikeout on a waist high 95 mph heater.

He would need some pretty low pitch counts the next few innings to go 8.

Nice work Gio 76 pitches in five innings only one mistake really.

It can be done.  Just average around 10 pitches an inning for next 3 .

Lots of Trouts , Dizzy , Steve, Mike that I know  .

LaMarre even providing us with some chuckles out there.

Gio located real well to Candelario  . On gameday the 2 called balls looked like perfect pitches down and in.

Hell of an effort from Lucas. Usually I'm not in favor of throwing him back out there after 90+ this year, but lets do it.

Let's see if Lucas has one more good inning in him 7 will be plenty good.

Great inning . Take a seat . Job well done.

Maybe the best Lucas has looked since spring training.  This is the guy I hoped we’d get all year.  I will grant you the Tigers are in full tank mode, but good stuff and excellent command.

A day without a K for Moncada with 2 hits. I'll take that .

It's almost as if you let talented kids have the opportunity to work through their problems they might figure it out.

Nice  efficient inning for Covey

Its weird having a thoroughly enjoyable game.

Giolito's ERA down to 5.85.
