White sox active in starting pitching market

Does anyone else think that the Sox might do a trade like Palka for Jose DeLeon? Deleon is a former top 75 prospect who is coming off TJS and is already 26. Tampa is absolutely loaded with SP options.

  • There’s no domestic pitcher on the market right now that is good enough to warrant a significant, market rate free agent deal by the White Sox right now. With Corbin gone, they’re all mid rotation sta

  • If the indians trade away kluber and others the division will be wide open. Literally any team could win it if they add 100 million in payroll.

Would the Sox do it?  Yes, for sure.  Would the Rays?  No way in hell IMO.

Would you trade a lesser OF for him? Someone like Gonzalez or Walker?

I would do that before they could hang up the phone.

The Rays getting the 26-29 years of a pitcher on pre-arb is like their dream scenario.

Depends on his medicals, but I’d probably trade Walker for him.

Durability has been a major issue for De Leon. I'm not sure he has all that much trade value right now.

What exactly is an injured FORMER top 75 Prospect worth?  Certainly not Gonzalez.

That is why I thought Palka could work.

Looking at his stats, this guy seems like he has a future in the bullpen. His highest IP total is 114 back in 2015. Sox could do better instead of trading for a buy-low candidate.

I think him holding up as a starter it out of the question, which knocks his trade value way down.

Until he shows he can remain healthy he just is not worth much. A 40 man roster spot is a question mark even.

former top 30.  But yeah, he has  some value still I'd imagine.
