As for players whom I hope the Sox take..... P Tyler Jay, P Riley Ferrell, and 2B Max Schrock all interest me.

Some guys I found interesting from looking through the top 30 lists:

Luis Gonzalez - Orioles

Josh Ockimey - Red Sox

Trevor Clifton - Cubs

Michael Beltre - Reds

Roberto Ramos - Rockies

Riley Ferrell - Astros

Drew Jackson - Dodgers

Connor Joe - Dodgers

Ali Sanchez - Mets

Richie Martin - A's

Tom Eshelman - Phillies

Art Warren - Mariners

Max Schrock - Cardinals

Drew Ward - Nationals

Phil Bickford anyone?

I'd take a shot he has some drug problems but we could always hide him in the bullpen if he doesn't work as a starter

I think Thompson is going to be selected. He fits the profile of a guy who could be stashed in a pen all year. I wouldn’t worry about Mendick. Last year we were worried about Peters, and he had better stats than Mendick and wasn’t selected.

I'd target Wong as a 4th OF/super sub/replacement for Engel.

Now we need a catcher, any thoughts of using a rule 5 pick? Ali Sanchez for example is a great defender derailed by injuries and a poor bat. Thinking we select him and use him to Collins/Zavala are fully ready.

Would struggle to hit the Mendoza line but should easily hold own with glove. It’s prob not a lot worse than say Huntley as an idea.

I hope they  don't lose anyone, esp. considering the AAAA fodder they protected on the 40.

They could pick a reliever, but they have a ton of equivalent guys on the 40.  Same with 4th/5th OFs.   I doubt they pick anyone.

Kolek would be kind of fun to see.

I kind of have interest in Ockimey but he is sort of blocked at 1B on our team.

After a few years of draft and stash, I'm on board this train:

Get someone you think is a big league piece.

Usually I BA's rule V preview and come up with a few names I like. Not so much this year.

I would pick Kean Wong though. Kolten's brother. .345 OBP at AAA, not too shabby. He'd have to compete with Rondon and Leury for a backup job. Probably lose too, but again, its 50k.

It would be really nice to test out a starting pitcher this year, but BA doesnt list any on their top eligible players there.

You don't think Wong would have at least a chance at beating out Engel?
