Regardless, both easy to swallow if it means getting to watch Machado for his age 26-32 seasons.

January 8, 20197 yr 8/280 for Machado actually seems like a solid deal for the Sox. That's only 35 million a year and the Sox could probably frontload it a bit.

January 8, 20197 yr How about you do one of those "swellopt" deals for Manny? 7 Years, $250-70 millionish (whatever it is), opt out after 6, White Sox have 2 year option after 6 (boosting it to 8 years over $300 mil). That way we get a little protection for the deal and Manny and his agent can tell people he got Machado $300 million.
